Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk announced the launch of an additional assistance program to address urgent issues Ukrainian citizens face at the place of relocation.
"UNICEF organization, together with the Ukrainian Government, has developed out and adopted a resolution launching a program of additional assistance to address pressing issues in the place of relocation of Ukrainians," she said. "We understand that you have
lost your home, the opportunity to live a normal life and now you have urgent needs that must be met. Therefore, accommodation, food, medicine, medical care are the issues that will be covered, at least in part, by this program."Iryna Vereshchuk clarified that the program would trigger for the most vulnerable citizens who are in dire need of such assistance. These are, for example, multi-children families and families with children with disabilities.
According to her, within the framework of the program the following categories of the population are entitled to additional payments in the form of financial assistance:
- families with three or more children, of which at least one child is aged under two;
- families with two or more children, of which at least one child has a disability.
Payment of additional cash benefits is conducted regardless of whether persons receive other types of assistance. Including the payment of housing allowances to internally displaced persons. Financial assistance under this program is paid in the amount of UAH 2,220 per family member per month, for a maximum of five people. Payment of cash benefits is made once in one payment calculated for three months.
To receive assistance, one of the adult family members fills out the application form on the official UNICEF website, including through the single state web portal of electronic services. In particular, using the mobile application Diia after technical implementation in accordance with the procedure established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
"We also call on other international organizations to join in working with the Ukrainian Government to make it easier for our people, to make us stronger together with you, and for Ukraine to move faster and faster to our victory," Iryna Vereshchuk urged.
