Central and local authorities work as one and united as never before. The aggressor's plans have failed - the country's governance system has been preserved. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine on April 27.
The Head of Government emphasized that many representatives of local authorities had shown themselves to be real leaders in organizing the defense of their communities. Others appeared to be hospitable and skillful managers, receiving millions of migrants and providing a reliable rear.
"The Government has provided support, continues to do so and will further
help all our communities across the country. We have already allocated UAH 1.4 billion for the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure in five regions. We are restoring and clearing hundreds of kilometers of roads. Every day we return the light to tens of thousands of consumers. We are demining territories - more than 85,000 explosive devices have already been neutralized," told Denys Shmyhal. The Prime Minister added that the Diia also now offers new opportunities, such as the registration of internally displaced persons and damaged property. In addition, assistance is paid to IDPs and compensation for utilities to those who have sheltered these people. Hundreds of thousands of food and sanitary packages are distributed in frontline cities. Relocation assistance is provided to Ukrainian manufacturing companies.
According to Denys Shmyhal, on commission of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Government is drafting a Ukraine Recovery Plan.
"We wish not just to rebuild. We strive and will make better and more modern everything that was destroyed by russian barbarians. It also means that there will be a major transformation of the Ukrainian economy after the war. We must build a new Ukraine all together – a strong and European country," accentuated the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government noted that all of us believe and rest assured in Ukraine's victory, and everyone does whatever it takes to achieve this goal.
