Ukraine expects to join ENTSO-E within a week, says German Galushchenko

The process of synchronizing the Ukrainian energy system with the European ENTSO-E sees the final stages. This was announced by Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.

"Now the technical preparation for synchronization is coming to an end. It should be completed within the next few days. We expect our accession to take place in the coming week," said the Minister.

German Galushchenko stressed that Ukraine is confidently moving towards strengthening its

energy independence. The Minister expressed hope that Europe would also follow the appropriate path and abandon, in particular, Russian gas.

"We have warned that Russia is using gas as a weapon. And today these weapons are already on our streets ... Europeans just have to make a decision for themselves. They simply have to halt buying Russian gas and oil. There are opportunities for diversification," the Minister added.

German Galushchenko stressed that European countries must be guided in their policies by the new realities faced by the whole world on February 24, when Russia carried out a military invasion of Ukraine.
