Iryna Vereshchuk: On March 27, two humanitarian corridors were opened

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk summed up the results of Sunday's evacuation and the work of humanitarian corridors.

"Corridors were held for Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Iryna Vereschuk said, adding that a total of more than 1,000 people had been evacuated.

Donetsk region

586 people travelled from Mariupol to Zaporizhia by their own cars.

Also, 15 buses arrived today at the checkpoint at the entrance to Berdyansk, and

tomorrow morning they are to be delivered to the evacuation meeting point: 27 Melitopolske street, near the city sports complex.

"I remind you that at the address: Melitopolske highway, 87b - in Berdyansk there is a free refuelling for Mariupol residents," Iryna Vereshchuk said.

There are also humanitarian headquarters in Berdyansk to help Mariupol residents:

Luhansk region

The Rubizhne-Bakhmut humanitarian corridor enabled to evacuate 513 people from the cities of Rubizhne, Lysychansk, Severodonetsk and Popasna.

We also managed to save our people from the hiding place under the ruins of the bakery and from the hiding place of the school №5.

"Women, children, the elderly and people with disabilities were rescued due to the heroism of Luhansk police patrols. Despite the violation of the silence by the occupying forces, they pulled out all 155 citizens.

"I want to thank the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, who worked on organizing this rescue operation! Tomorrow we plan to continue work on the Mariupol direction and launch humanitarian corridors to Sumy region," Iryna Vereshchuk said.
