Government launches new mechanisms to support internally displaced persons

The Government is launching a series of programs to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have left their homes and lost their jobs as a result of active hostilities in their regions and moved to safety.

Thus, the following mechanisms are designed to support IDPs on the territory of Ukraine:

Monthly assistance from the state in the amount of UAH 2,000 per month for an

adult and UAH 3,000 per month for children and persons with disabilities. This payment is accrued monthly during martial law + 1 month after its termination or cancellation. The application can be submitted in person to the social protection bodies, the authorized person of the community or the CASP, or through the Diia portal.

Employment of IDPs. Employers will be able to apply for compensation for each employed internally displaced person in the amount of UAH 6.5 thousand per month. Payment will be made within the first two months of employment. Employers who have entered into relevant employment contacts must register data on employees through the Diia portal https://diia.gov.ua/ or submit an application for payment to the State Employment Service. This can be done no earlier than 5 days after the registration of the employee, and the funds are transferred to the employer for the full month of the employee

Compensation to families hosting IDPs in their homes. The issue at stake is reimbursement of utility bills – UAH 450 hryvnias per person.

“The program of assistance to enterprises that provide Ukrainians with jobs is a consistent continuation of state support for the economy, which will stimulate business intensification in regions where there is no active hostilities. Programs to support IDPs - payment of benefits and compensation of utility bills - will allow citizens to adapt to new locations, "said First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
