Mykola Solsky: The overriding tasks are sowing campaign and establishing grain exports

The newly appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky outlined the key priorities of the Ministry for the near future.

"Issues that concern everyone – sowing campaign, as well as no less important task - the establishment of logistics for grain exports. Because it's very large, "he told to media outlets.

According to the Minister, Ukraine has stocks of grain that were intended for

export – to the tune of USD 7.5 billion.

At the same time, as the Minister noted, the work of Ukrainian ports is limited due to the war.

"Ports have been restricted. Earlier, we exported 4-5 million tons of agricultural products, grain and processed products through ports a month. Now - only a few thousand tons across the western borders. It is very important to fix this. Obviously, minus the reserves that the country needs, "said Mykola Solsky.

After all, according to him, these funds from exports are needed by farmers to pay rent, wages and crops.

"Therefore, this is the main work carried out by the Ministry, the Agrarian Committee and on which everyone is focused," the Minister concluded.

It should be stressed that Ukraine has the full support of the Ministers of Agrarian Policy of the G7 countries and other international colleagues in increasing the export of Ukrainian agricultural products along new logistics routes.
