March 13, more than 5,500 people were evacuated from the shelled territories, says Iryna Vereshchuk

n March 13, 14 humanitarian corridors were planned, but only 9 of them worked. This was announced during a briefing by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk.

Kyiv region - 3950 people were rescued

● Borodyanka town - on the third attempt we have managed to open a corridor and save

600 people, taking them to Zhytomyr.

● Peremoha village of Baryshivka Consolidated Community - 1000 people were released through intense negotiations. In the morning, the occupier did not fulfill his obligations and forced people to return to the bomb shelters.

● Velyka Dymerka village - 375 people were evacuated, 198 of them - children.

● Bucha - 600 residents rescued.

● Dymerka CC villages - a total of 1,000 people were evacuated.

Luhansk region - 1,600 civilians were rescued, including:

● Lysychansk town - 400 people evacuated.

● Rubizhne town -350 inhabitants evacuated.

● Severodonetsk - 600 people.

● Kreminna - 250 people were taken out to safe locations.

"In total, today we have managed to evacuate more than 5,500 people from under the constant shelling. Meanwhile, due to the violation of the regime of silence by the Russian Federation and non-compliance with the agreements reached, the humanitarian corridors in five settlements did not work," Iryna Vereshchuk summed up.

In particular:

● Mariupol - the evacuation failed.

"The city has been suffering from airstrikes and bombing all day - but the humanitarian cargo has remained blocked," said Iryna Vereshchuk.

According to her, the convoy of buses for evacuation from Mariupol, which left Zaporizhia on March 12, did not move along the route today due to total shelling and remained in Berdyansk.

"We will resume the attempt to get to our native city of Mariupol tomorrow morning," the Minister stressed.

● From the towns of Popasna, Shchastia and the village of Horske - evacuation failed due to constant shelling by the occupiers.

● Town of Pology, Zaporizhia region - the corridor remained blocked due to constant shelling by the Russian Federation.

Iryna Vereshchuk also reiterated that the Ukrainian authorities were demanding that the occupiers released the persons illegally detained by the aggressor.

"I want to talk about people who are illegally held captive by the occupiers. In particular - Melitopol city head Ivan Fedorov. The fate of Dniprorudny city head Yevhen Matviyev, who was abducted by the occupiers this morning, is also still unknown. The enemy is also capturing a rescuer who was declared to be the escort of the convoy and had a permit to stay exactly where he was captured by the occupiers. It's about Oleksii Danchenko. And once again we demand their immediate release," she stressed.

In the end, Iryna Vereshchuk thanked the power engineers for whom the Chernobyl-Lisova corridor had been built. Repair work lasted for three days.

"Our energy workers from Ukrenergo and Energoatom, risking their own lives and health, were able to avert the risk of a nuclear catastrophe that threatened the whole of Europe. We are proud of you!" emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
