Iryna Vereshchuk: We will fight for every Ukrainian and for each of you! This is what differs us from the occupiers

During the briefing, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk told about the course of work of humanitarian corridors.

"Today, special attention and efforts have been paid to the organization of safety of people who managed to escape from the blockade of Mariupol. At the same time, given the large flow of people in their own cars, we spent all day negotiating to ensure a regime of silence," said Iryna Vereshchuk.

According to her, the occupiers did not allow the convoy of food and buses for

evacuation to Mariupol.

"However, now 15 buses with Mariupol residents, who left the besieged city yesterday and were in Berdyansk, have reached Zaporizhia, where they are being provided with the necessary assistance," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

A total of 6,426 Mariupol residents came to Zaporizhia, including 2,039 children. The convoy of cars is still moving in the direction of Zaporizhia.

Currently, food and medicine remain in Berdyansk, where help points have been set up for all those who continue to leave the besieged city.

"Tomorrow there will be talks on silence along the route. We will take people from there. We also plan to organize corridors for the supply of goods to the blocked settlements of Kharkiv and Kyiv regions," Iryna Vereshchuk added.

In the end, the Minister announced the good news about the release of the mayor of Melitopol from the captivity of the occupiers.

"We managed to rescue our indomitable mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov. Now he is heading to Kyiv. I am deeply grateful to the team that organized this operation and carried it out successfully. I also want all representatives of local self-government whose territories are temporarily occupied to hear: we will fight for every Ukrainian and for each of you! This is how we differ from the occupiers, who neglect the lives of their own citizens, sending them here to die," Iryna Vereshchuk summed up.
