In the presence of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė, an agreement was signed on cooperation in the field of protection of children affected by the war in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation.
The document was inked during a meeting of heads of government on April 11
between the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania.According to Denys Shmyhal, the agreement provides for mechanisms and tools to support children who have been forced to leave for Lithuania, as well as to ensure their return to Ukraine after the end of active hostilities.
"Thousands of Ukrainians have taken refuge from the war in Lithuania and the Lithuanian people have welcomed Ukrainian women and children with an open heart. We are grateful for this support," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Ingrida Šimonytė, in turn, noted that Lithuanian trucker convoys with humanitarian aid from the state, business and people of Lithuania would further provide assistance to Ukraine.
"We will do it as much as necessary," stressed the head of the Lithuanian Government.
Denys Shmyhal noted that he had no doubts about the continued support of the Government of Lithuania and the Lithuanian people.
"Just as I have no doubt that we will live together peacefully in a united Europe, of which Ukraine will certainly be a part," the Ukrainian Prime Minister stressed.
The Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Lithuania also tackled the financial support and filling of the Ukraine Recovery Fund.
