The Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko held talks with his British counterpart Kwasi Kwarteng.
During the meeting, German Galushchenko thanked for the assistance provided to Ukraine by the British government in counteracting russian military aggression.
The Energy Minister commended the UK decision on further development of nuclear
energy in order to reduce energy dependence on russia. The UK plans to increase its nuclear capacity and build 6-7 new nuclear power plants by 2050.The parties also discussed the diversification of fuel supplies to Ukraine, including from the United Kingdom.
"The russia's army is trying to destroy our fuel infrastructure and Ukraine is interested in diversifying fuel supplies," said the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, thanking his British counterpart for his willingness to promote this area of cooperation.
Apart from that, German Galushchenko briefed Kwasi Kwarteng on the work being done to assess the damage caused to the energy infrastructure as a result of russia's military aggression.
