BREAKING: Deputy PM urges residents of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk oblasts to evacuate.

Update at 10:15pm Kyiv Time: It's reported Russian Special Forces wearing fake Azov battalion uniforms deployed to Kharkiv, Ukraine, and are preparing to use toxic materials to blame it on Ukrainian forces.


Update at 10:05pm Kyiv Time: General Staff: Russia prepares an ‘offensive operation’ against Ukraine. 


According to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Russia plans to capture Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. 


The regrouping of troops in Russia’s Bryansk and Kursk regions is nearing completion.


Update at 7:15pm Kyiv Time: The Kyiv Independent reports Russia shelled residential buildings in Luhansk Oblast after Ukrainian authorities urged civilians to evacuate.


As a result, 10 high-rise buildings were on fire in Sievierodonetsk on April 6. The number of casualties is unknown.

BREAKING: Ukraine - Deputy PM urges residents of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk oblasts to evacuate.


Iryna Vereshchuk called on the residents of these eastern regions to evacuate while it’s possible, warning that further Russian bombardments could cut off evacuation corridors.

According to the council, Russia’s special brigades collect and burn the bodies of murdered residents. Tens of thousands of civilians may have been killed in Mariupol, it added.


“The scale of the tragedy in Mariupol the world has not seen since the times of Nazi concentration camps,” mayor Vadym Boychenko said. Russians, he added, “turned our whole city into a death camp.”


Luhansk Oblast governor: Russia building up troops for offensive in 3-4 days.


According to Serhiy Haidai, Russian forces continue to attack Popasna city with Grad rocket launchers and aircraft on April 6, adding that the evacuation of civilians is happening under fire.


Russian occupiers totally block any Ukrainian efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Mariupol. Russian soldiers sometimes steal Ukrainian humanitarian cargo and then try to give it to residents on behalf of Russia — Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko


Russians fire artillery at humanitarian aid distribution spot in Vuhledar, killing at least 2 people.


Donetsk Oblast Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said Russian forces also wounded at least 5 other people. He stressed that the authorities are documenting all of Russia’s war crimes.


Russians destroy plant in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. 


Russian missile attack on the evening of April 5 completely demolished the plant’s six tanks for fuels and lubricants, the regional State Emergency Service reported. The plant will no longer be able to operate.


Kharkiv shelled 27 times during the night.


Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Synehubov said that Russian forces used various weapons to attack residential areas of Ukraine’s second-largest city.


Russia's war kills at least 167 children, wounds 279 others.


According to Prosecutor General’s office, 79 children were either killed or injured in Kyiv Oblast and 81 in Donetsk Oblast. The numbers don’t include children's casualties from hot spots such as besieged Mariupol.
