BREAKING: Venezuela Hit By Prelim 7.1 Earthquake, 28 km NW of Montalbán, Venezuela

7:34pm: BREAKING: USGS says the Venezuela earthquake was a “doublet event," with a "magnitude 7.1 foreshock that was followed just 45 seconds later by a larger 7.5 mainshock."

BREAKING: Montalban, Venezuela - Breaking at this hour is a prelim 7.1 earthquake occurred 28 km NW of Montalbán, Venezuela on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026.

The 7.1 earthquake according to latest information from USGS occurred 28 km NW of Montalbán, Venezuela.

PTWC has issued a tsunami alert for Venezuela and nearby islands after 7.1 magnitude earthquake west of Caracas.

No word if any damage occurred.

BREAKING: U.S Launches New Strikes Against Iran

6:54pm: Iran’s Khatam Al-Anbiyaa Central Command announces the full closure of the Strait of Hormuz, allowing zero ships to pass from now on, with or without tolls.

6:51pm: The IRGC has announced they are closing the Strait of Hormuz completely according to latest information.

6:46pm Update: U.S. began strikes against key Iranian facilities such as ammunition depots, command and control nodes and warehouses, according to U.S. officials statement to CBS News.

Iran confirms that US strikes hit IRGC bases and infrastructure in Asaluyeh, Bandar Abbas, Minab Kargan, Sirik, Qeshm Island, and Hengam Island.

6:04pm Update: Clashes in the Strait of Hormuz between the IRGC Navy and the United States.

An American official: The focus of attacks at this stage is on the scope and entry into the Strait of Hormuz. These attacks will increase and we will attack hundreds of targets.

Anti-ship missiles reportedly launched towards U.S. warships in the Sea of Oman.

BREAKING: Massive Cat 4 Almost 5 Hurricane Melissa To Strike Jamaica Between Monday & Tuesday































BREAKING: Category 5 hurricane Melissa (175mph) is currently making landfall or is imminent in Jamaica.

BREAKING: Massive Hurricane Melissa (Cat 4, almost 5) with max. sustained winds of 145mph will strike Jamaica either Monday or Tuesday.

Latest National Hurricane Update:

At 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC), the eye of Hurricane Melissa was 
located by Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft near latitude 
16.4 North, longitude 77.2 West. Melissa is moving toward the west 
near 5 mph (7 km/h). A slow westward motion is expected tonight, 
followed by a turn to the north and northeast on Monday and Tuesday. 
On the forecast track, the core of Melissa is expected to move near 
or over Jamaica on Tuesday, across southeastern Cuba Tuesday night, 
and across the southeastern Bahamas on Wednesday.
 
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 145 mph (230 km/h) 
with higher gusts.  Melissa is a category 4 hurricane on the 
Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Additional intensification is 
forecast over the next day or so, followed by fluctuations in 
intensity.  Melissa is expected to be a powerful major hurricane 
when making landfall in Jamaica Monday night or Tuesday morning and 
southeastern Cuba late Tuesday.
 
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles
(335 km).
 
The minimum central pressure estimated by aircraft dropsonde data is 
941 mb (27.79 inches).

WIND: Tropical storm conditions are likely occuring in Jamaica, with
hurricane conditions expected to begin by Monday. Tropical storm
conditions are expected to begin in Eastern Cuba by Tuesday
afternoon, with Hurricane conditions expected to begin in the
hurricane warning area by Tuesday evening. Tropical storm conditions
are ongoing in the warning area in Haiti. The potential for 
hurricane conditions in the watch area in Haiti have diminished for
today, but there is still a possibility of hurricane conditions
occurring there on Tuesday.
 
RAINFALL: Melissa is expected to bring rainfall of 15 to 30 inches
to portions of Jamaica and additional rainfall of 8 to 16 inches for
southern Hispaniola through Wednesday, with local storm total maxima
of 40 inches possible.  Catastrophic flash flooding and numerous
landslides are likely.
 
For eastern Cuba, storm total rainfall of 10 to 15 inches, with
local amounts to 20 inches, is expected by Monday into Wednesday
resulting in life-threatening flash flooding and numerous
landslides.
 
Over the Southeast Bahamas, total rainfall of 4 to 8 inches is
expected Tuesday into Wednesday resulting in areas of flash
flooding.

STORM SURGE: Life-threatening storm surge is likely along the south
coast of Jamaica late Monday through Tuesday morning.  Peak storm
surge heights could reach 9 to 13 feet above ground level, near and
to the east of where the center of Melissa makes landfall. This
storm surge will be accompanied by large and destructive waves.
 
There is a potential for significant storm surge along the southeast
coast of Cuba late Tuesday or Wednesday. Peak storm surge heights
could reach 6 to 9 feet above normal tide levels, near and to the
east of where the center of Melissa makes landfall. This storm surge
will be accompanied by large and destructive waves.
 
SURF: Swells generated by Melissa are expected to affect portions of
Hispaniola, Jamaica, eastern Cuba, and the Cayman Islands during the
next several days, and In the Bahamas and Bermuda later this week.
These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip
current conditions.  Please consult products from your local weather

BREAKING: Hostages Held By Hamas Release Has Begun

7:35am Eastern Time: Latest Development: All alive hostages held by Hamas have been released.

BREAKING: Gaza City - Hamas has begun releasing hostages they been hold for over two years.

There are 48 hostages held by Hamas which 20 are said to be alive.

The first handover to the Red Cross than IDF involved 7 hostages.

Releases are said to take place in batches. 

Those who didn't make it will be released later today.

We're unsure what will unfold once all hostages have been released by Hamas.

It is a great day for Israel and those who never gave up on the release of all hostages held by Hamas.

-President Trump announced Monday evening via social media that Israel and Iran has agreed to a ceasefire to be phased in over 24 hours.

-President announced striking three nuclear sites in Iran on Saturday evening, June 21st.

The President calls the strikes very successful according to his social media post.

Update at 3:38pm EDT: Saraya Al-Quds terror group in West bank declares war on Israel.

Update at 2:24pm EDT: Over 50 IDF aircrafts over Gaza sky striking PIJ weapons depots, rocket launchers amid Gaza rocket fire.

Iran's proxy Palestinian Islamic Jihad launched over 50 rockets at Israeli civilians in tonight's barrage.

All were intercepted by the Iron Dome or fell in open areas.

No Israeli injuries were reported.

BREAKING: Russia Attacks Odesa With Multiple Explosions

Update at 10:09pm: Russians dropped an air bomb on a school in Bilohorodka, Luhansk region, the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reports.

According to him, there were about 90 people in the school, and about 30 citizens were rescued from the rubble. This building was the last refuge of people in the settlement.

Update at 9:53pm:  In the temporarily occupied Kherson region, forest fires are raging - the Russians forbid putting them out, according to the head of the Chulakivka community, Oleksandr Musiienko.

According to him, the fire is spreading near the villages of Heroiske and Ivanivka.
