RUSSIA: Lev Lazarev won the short program at the Junior Grand Prix in China, receiving 86.76 points for his performance.

Figure skater Lev Lazarev leads after the short program at the first event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in Xi'an, China, with 86.76 points.  New Zealand's Yanhao Li is second with 83.59 points, and Grayson Long of Canada is third with 78.45 points.

Sergei Davydov's student skated his new "Bolero" program cleanly, executing a triple axel, a triple lutz, and a triple flip-triple toe loop cascade in the second half of the program.

Except for the first spin, which is level 3, all the other elements are level 4, including the step sequence. The judges noted an unclear edge on the flip. But the performance was very respectable!

Lev Lazarev, like the rest of our competitors at the China tournament, was making their ISU Junior Grand Prix debut. Everyone overcame their nerves and skated brilliantly!

Congratulations to Lev Lazarev on such a wonderful start to the competition!

The tournament will be broadcast on the OKKO platform.
