Men's North America QS Contingent Return September 3 - 6, WRV and Pacifico Continue Famed Outer Banks Coastline Mainstay Event

JENNETTE'S PIER, Nags Head, Outer Banks, N.C. (Monday, August 17, 2026) - The World Surf League (WSL) North America Qualifying Series (QS) returns for the long-standing WRV Outer Banks Pro Presented by Pacifico QS 2,000. Beginning September 3 through 6, the men's QS contenders will look to carry momentum from Virginia Beach, or

find the spark they need to ignite the ensuing fall competition run. This event has proven to be pivotal step toward the race for Challenger Series (CS) qualification and a proving ground for competitors who have now made appearances on the Championship Tour (CT).

"This event remains one of our more iconic stops, and a staple for the North America QS for well over a decade. The community here and the waves that the Outer Banks can provide are top-tier," said WSL Tour Manager Brian Robbins. "WRV continues to show their commitment to pro surfing, and providing these athletes with opportunities to experience the East Coast's beauty, while also giving them the platform to perform. We're hoping to see some great swell and celebrate the holiday weekend by crowning some event champions."

Men's North America QS Contingent Return September 3 - 6

This marks the fourth stop for the men's 2026/2027 QS season toward Challenger Series qualification. Known for its good vibes and busy beach atmosphere to provide activations for the whole family, the competitors have the opportunity to earn a momentum-building result in front of a crowd enjoying all the action.

"From what this event started as to where it is now is incredible for us at WRV. Our team goes above and beyond each year to make this event a special one for the QS competitors and their families to embrace all that the Outer Banks can provide," said WRV President Shaw. "With Pacifico standing behind us since making our new home at Jennette's Pier, the support from the Township of Nags Head, and the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, we've been able to grow this event to the great vibes it now embodies. WRV and Pacifico Continue Famed Outer Banks Coastline Mainstay Event

Held at the Jennette's Pier in consecutive years since 2014, the WRV Outer Banks, WRV continues to join forces with Pacifico to keep professional surfing thriving on the East Coast. One of only two events for the men in East Coast waters, this event has proven to be an anchor for competitors looking to break into the QS scene. And, held alongside the beginning of hurricane season, the opportunity to witness incredible conditions keeps competitors on their toes heading to the Outer Banks' beauty.
