Ukraine, Ireland discuss countering russian propaganda and aid to restore monuments destroyed by russia

Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko discussed with the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sports and Media of Ireland Catherine Martin the issues of protection of cultural heritage and the fight against russian propaganda in the world.

Oleksandr Tkachenko stressed the need to preserve and restore the immovable cultural heritage damaged by the russian occupiers, and said that Ukraine is counting on

Ireland's assistance in establishing an international fund that will continue the Great Reconstruction program in Ukraine.

Attention was also paid to the issue of assistance to Ukraine in the information resistance to russian propaganda. In particular, they discussed the need to ban russian "kremlin mouthpieces" that continue to broadcast in Ireland, sanctions against them and, instead, the start of broadcasting of Ukrainian TV channels.

Oleksandr Tkachenko stressed the importance of severing any cultural ties between Ireland and russia, as it is also a counter to russian propaganda.

"Regarding cultural cooperation. We discussed the need to help Ukrainian artists who came to Ireland because of the russian war in Ukraine. Let me remind that this year has been recognized as the Year of Ukrainian Culture in Europe, so we expect Ireland to attract Ukrainian culture, institutions and artists. This will allow both countries to generate new joint interesting projects. Ireland, like the whole civilized world, expresses words of solidarity with Ukraine. I hope that the words will definitely become real actions in support of our country," Oleksandr Tkachenko stressed.
