Minister of Health Viktor Liashko met with his Lithuanian counterpart Arūnas Dulkys and Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas. Lithuanian high-ranking officials visited Ukraine as part of a two-day visit.
According to the Minister of Health, Lithuania has been our reliable partner since 2014, and since February, when the russian occupiers launched a full-scale barbaric war against Ukraine, this support has only intensified.
"For the last 8 years, the Republic of Lithuania has provided unprecedented support to
Ukraine and has never doubted the firmness and determination of its position. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, Lithuania has only strengthened its support for Ukraine," Viktor Liashko said. "Today we are not just talking about humanitarian aid, Lithuania is helping to openly defend our independence in the political and diplomatic spheres."This is the first visit by the Minister of Health of the EU country to Ukraine since the start of a full-scale russian invasion. European politicians have seen for themselves the terrible consequences of the war that russia has been waging on our territory for more than a month.
In particular, according to Arūnas Dulkys, today "Lithuania stands ready to help Ukraine with EU integration and become a leader in medical issues in this process."
In the near future, Lithuania will send to Ukraine two professional teams of traumatologists and resuscitators with a full set of equipment and medicines. Lithuanian colleagues will professionally support our doctors, and Ukrainian doctors, in turn, will share their unique experience in emergency situations.
