BREAKING: Russian Troops Surrounds City of Kherson

Update #5: At least 1 million Ukrainians have fled the country since Russia’s invasion began seven days ago, says UN Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.


Six adults and two children were killed in a residential building as a result of a Russian attack on the city of Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast.


A building of the military faculty of Sumy State University in Ukraine's northeastern city Sumy was shelled this morning by Russian forces, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytsky reported.


Update #4: A number of cities and towns in Ukraine, including Okhtyrka and Kharkiv sustained heavy damages after Russian shelling. 


In Kharkiv, Russian strikes hit at least 3 schools, and Kharkiv’s Assumption Cathedral. In Okhtyrka, dozens of residential buildings were destroyed.


Update #3: Air raid alerts in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv and Chernihiv Oblast, Volyn Oblast, Cherkasy Oblast, Kirovohrad Oblast, Poltava Oblast, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Zaporizhzhia and Odesa.


Update #2: Two loud explosions heard in the center of Kyiv. 


Residents must go immediately to the nearest shelter.


A third and fourth explosion have now been heard near Kyiv's Druzhby Narodiv metro station.

Update #1: Kyiv Independent reports, Maryna Fenina, national member of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine died on March 1 in a shelling while delivering supplies to her family in Kharkiv. 


The OSCE has denounced Russia’s military action in Ukraine and strongly condemns its shelling of civilian areas.


BREAKING: Kherson, Ukraine - Kherson Mayor Kolykhaev: “The city is surrounded.”


According to Kherson mayor Igor Kolykhaev, the situation in the southern regional capital is tense with Russian troops entering the city and taking administrative buildings.

The command of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces has warned that it will not spare Russian artillerymen in response to their “brutal shelling” of civilians and cities.


According to the Infrastructure Ministry, one crew member was killed due to the missile attack.

The Russian rocket, allegedly targeting the Ministry of Defense, was shot down by an air defense system, and its wreckage fell near Kyiv’s main train station.

-According to Axios, A senior Pentagon official said seizing Mariupol and Kharkiv would allow Russia to cut off eastern Ukraine and pin Ukrainian forces away from Kyiv.


-According to reports, Now encircled by Russian troops, the Ukrainian city of Mariupol — recently home to nearly half a million people — no longer has electricity, heat, or fresh supplies of food, says its mayor.


We must stand by Ukraine by having the Nato alliance sending troops to help Ukrainian defend their homeland from Russia.


Citizens of all ages are being killed every day that this war continues.
