The ROC team is in second place after the first day of the team tournament at the Olympics in Beijing, the US team is in the lead, the Chinese team is in third place.

After the first day of the team figure skating tournament, the ROC team is second with 26 points. In the first place is the United States - 28 points, in the third - China with 21 points.

10 teams participate in the team competitions at the Games in Beijing - the USA, ROC, China, Japan, Italy, Canada, Georgia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Germany. In addition to Ukraine and Germany, all teams performed on the first day in three sports - men's singles, ice dancing and pair skating, where they presented short programs. Ukraine could not put

a figure skater in men's skating, and Germany - in pair skating, as the declared athletes were forced to withdraw from the competition due to positive tests for COVID.

- Today was a wonderful day. All members of our team, our team performed very well. We are waiting for the performance in the short program for girls. I am sure that Kamila (Valieva – approx.) is perfectly ready. There's no doubt about that. And everyone who skated the short program needs to exhale, rest and mentally tune in to the random rental. We have a very strong team, and again, all the guys gave their best, just like Victoria and I. Unfortunately, there was an error, but not terrible. There is also an arbitrary program. Yes, we understand and feel that we are strong. And I think if everyone does what they know how to do, they will not, as they say in our country, "jump out of their pants", then the result will be wonderful, - said the captain of the ROC team Nikita Katsalapov.

Team competitions will continue on February 6. Girls will perform with short programs, men with free programs. The composition of the participants of the competition will be confirmed on the evening of February 5.
