I appeal to all the people of Russia.
Your leaders have unilaterally decided to attack a neighboring country. A country with close historical and cultural ties to Russia. A nation that you call your brothers and sisters.
No one needs this war. Neither the Russians, nor the Ukrainians, nor the rest of the world.
It is not too late to stop this crime. It is not too late to prevent the deaths of thousands of innocent people. You can still avoid meaningless casualties on both sides of the front.
A song we all know so well says that in that war soldiers died that men from every shore might live without the fear of war. But now your country is starting a new war, the consequences of which no one knows.
Do the Russians want war? I want to believe that no.
Do not be silent. Do not turn away in the face of injustice. Be bold and determined!
