The time to put it down on paper has come. Ukraine is applying for EU membership under a special procedure

Yesterday, after our conversation, Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger aired a proposal to admit Ukraine to the European Union under a new special procedure. During the night, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a relevant conversation with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The actions of the invader received unprecedented resistance. Ukrainians have long made their civilized choice. We hope the decision will be made shortly. As the President noted, this is both possible and fair.
