The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have announced financial and political support for Ukraine and stand ready to increase anti-crisis assistance. According to the Ministry of Finance, this is stated in a joint statement by the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva and the President of the World Bank David Malpas.
Next week, the IMF will consider Ukraine's
request for emergency financing.Meanwhile, teams from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Fund are working ona review of the current Stand-By Arrangement, under which Ukraine should receive $2.2 billion by the end of June 2022.
The World Bank plans to provide $3 billion in support in the coming months, including $350 million to support Ukraine's budget and $200 million for health and education.
