Thanks to the efforts of the President of Ukraine, the Government, and diplomats, more and more countries are joining the pro-Ukrainian coalition, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal noted in a video address March 9.
The PM added dozens of countries and organizations are providing Ukraine with financial, humanitarian, military support.
“Yesterday, the United States increased the potential aid package for Ukraine from
USD 10 billion to USD 12 billion, which will shortly be considered by Congress. The World Bank has approved a USD 700 million additional support package for Ukraine. Today, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development announced the resilience package worth EUR 2 billion to back Ukraine”, told the Prime Minister.Denys Shmyhal added that in a few hours, the International Monetary Fund was to consider providing EUR 1.4 billion in emergency funding to Ukraine.
“Next week, we expect the first tranche of EUR 300 million in macro-financial support from the European Union, which has earmarked a new emergenchy assistance of € 1.2 billions. In a week - the second tranche is to be allotted”, stressed the Head of Government.
Apart from that, Denys Shmyhal announced that March 8 another auction for the sale of military government bonds to the tune of UAH 6.6 billion took place. Moreover, the National Bank of Ukraine has taken a decision to buy out the Government's war bonds for UAH 20 billion as well.
