Russia's military aggression against Ukraine is changing the architecture of the global energy sector, such a conviction was expressed by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
"The system of energy consumption and the energy market in general, which existed before the war, will no longer exist. This system will change in the world," he said.
German Galushchenko reminded of the intentions already announced by Western countries to
completely abandon or significantly reduce the consumption of Russian gas this year."The ultimate goal is energy independence from Russian resources. And the decision to impose an embargo on Russian oil is one of the steps towards achieving it," said the Minister of Energy.
"In fact, there is a revolution in the understanding of dependence on Russian energy. But, unfortunately, this revolution is taking place at the cost of the lives of Ukrainians," he added.
German Galushchenko stressed that changes would inevitably take place in the Ukrainian energy sector as well.
