EU macro-financial assistance: Ukraine will receive EUR 1.2 billion

Today, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the European Union and a Loan Agreement to provide our country with concessional loans under a new package of emergency macro-financial assistance in the amount of €1.2 billion.

"We are grateful to our European partners for the trust and strong support we are

currently receiving. This is extremely important in wartime. EU macro-financial assistance is a significant contribution to ensuring Ukraine's macro-financial stability," Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko stressed.

Ukraine will receive the first tranche of such assistance within a week. The second tranche is after the implementation of short-term measures agreed by the parties on the implementation of structural reforms.

EU macro-financial assistance will be used to maintain financial stability in Ukraine.

It will be recalled that on January 24, 2022, the European Commission announced the allocation of additional resources of financial support to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 1.2 billion. Subsequently, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union decided to provide financial support to Ukraine in an unprecedentedly short time.
