this new installment once again features Takashi Yamazaki as screenwriter and director, who also returns to supervise the film's visual effects.

Following the unveiling of the film's title and official logo earlier this year, anticipation for GODZILLA MINUS ZERO has continued to grow worldwide. The release of its first teaser trailer has further fueled fan excitement, already surpassing 4.7 million views on YouTube.

As a testament to the magnitude of this highly anticipated release, GODZILLA MINUS ZERO will also make history by becoming the first Japanese film shot for IMAX, offering an unprecedented cinematic experience.

Since its debut in 1954, Godzilla has established itself as one of the most influential icons in film history, captivating generations of viewers worldwide.

The previous installment in the saga, Godzilla Minus One, written, directed, and with visual effects supervised by the visionary Takashi Yamazaki, marked a turning point for the franchise. The film grossed over $116 million worldwide, commemorated Godzilla's 70th anniversary, and became the 30th Japanese live-action film featuring the legendary kaiju.

Its success culminated in a historic milestone when it became the first Asian production to win the Oscar® for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards. This accolade is complemented by over 50 awards from some of the world's most prestigious film festivals, solidifying Godzilla Minus One as a true global phenomenon.

Two years have passed since the desperate battle that marked the events of Godzilla Minus One. Just as humanity begins to regain hope after a hard-won peace, a new and devastating threat emerges to jeopardize everything.

The new official poster reinforces this atmosphere of uncertainty with the powerful tagline: "Humanity's crime and punishment. There is no turning back." The image shows an imposing Godzilla roaring into the sky amidst dark storm clouds, foreshadowing an unprecedented threat and a battle that will push humanity to its limits.

Along with the poster, an intense thirty-second teaser has also been released, marking the return of some of the most iconic characters from Godzilla Minus One, including Noda, played by Hidetaka Yoshioka, and Shikishima, once again brought to life by Ryunosuke Kamiki.

The tension mounts from the very first moment with the unsettling warning: "This goes beyond the limits of what humanity is allowed to do." From that point on, the trailer quickens the pulse with a succession of action-packed images that culminate in a shocking scene in which Godzilla emerges from the ocean depths to confront a seaplane, foreshadowing a new threat capable of once again bringing Japan to the brink of disaster.

Legendary actor Min Tanaka, internationally renowned for both his career as a dance master and his acclaimed performance in the film Kokuho (2025), joins the cast of GODZILLA MINUS ZERO. Recently awarded Best Supporting Actor at the 49th Japan Academy Film Prize for his work in Kokuho, Tanaka will portray Kanji Murakami, a biologist deeply scarred by the war, whose role will be pivotal to the story.

Along with these new developments, the highly anticipated return of the main cast of Godzilla Minus One has also been confirmed. Hidetaka Yoshioka reprises his role as Kenji Noda, who, after fighting alongside protagonist Koichi Shikishima (played by Ryunosuke Kamiki), now assumes the position of director of the Major Disaster Management Office to confront a new threat.
