Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro, and Pipa are the first destinations for a project that transforms Brazilian homes into co-living spaces and keeps income within the local community.
"Welcoming digital nomads has brought new life to our local community."
— Cleide, Nomadico partner in Florianópolis
RIO DE JANEIRO, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL, July 28, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / -- Digital nomadism is not a fad; it's a reality. And Brazil doesn't want to be left out.
For a long time, the country lacked alternatives for those who wanted more than a hotel or a
This changed in August 2025 with the arrival of Nomadico . Founded in 2022, the company has already hosted more than 1,200 nomads worldwide, with an average Google rating of 4.9 stars. It's a company that digital nomads choose in both unlikely destinations like Morocco and Cape Town, and in more familiar ones like Ericeira or Medellín. In Brazil , the model is the same: a partnership with local accommodations in recognized cities to attract a new audience that wants not just to visit a destination, but to live there.
Thus, nomads can inhabit cities for extended periods, meet both local and foreign people, and enjoy the country in a more authentic way. What differentiates Nomadico from other platforms is that it functions as a global showcase for Brazilian accommodations that aim to attract travelers seeking the perfect blend of privacy and community in the same home.
Nomadico doesn't buy properties or replace local owners. It partners with Brazilian owners who already have their spaces, often during off-peak seasons, to transform underutilized houses into active co-living spaces. Nomads, who stay for weeks or months, spend money in local businesses, frequent the same places as residents, and create bonds with the city, instead of just passing through. It's a concrete alternative to mass tourism that puts pressure on neighborhoods and increases rent for those who live there.
In August 2025, Florianópolis was the first destination: three houses in Barra da Lagoa, each with its own identity, but with the same concept. “From the first contact with Nomadico, I felt that the partnership made perfect sense. The opportunity to receive and welcome digital nomads has become enriching and has also brought new life to the local community,” says Cleide, owner of Casa Radda, where the spaces are designed exclusively for well-being, contact with nature, and the exchange of experiences. In less than a year, 67 people have already experienced Florianópolis in nomadic mode.
Soon after, they opened their doors in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro . The neighborhood, far from the busiest circuits, offers exactly what Nomadico's proposal promises: living in a truly Carioca way. Pauline has managed Casa da Gente for over twenty years and, for most of that time, has hosted tourists passing through. With Nomadico, since January 2026, 46 nomads have already chosen Santa Teresa as their base for work and life.
“The partnership with Nomadico brought a new energy. After so many years hosting short-term tourists, it was a real change to host digital nomads who stay longer, work from home, and share a genuine community experience through activities coordinated by the Community Manager,” says Pauline, who also highlights the financial return. “It has been a valuable partnership financially, with a higher occupancy rate, and personally, with the feeling of having found true partners in the young and dynamic Nomadico team.”
The next step in Brazil is Pipa, in Rio Grande do Norte, with an opening planned for August 2026. For Nomadico, Brazil represents more than just new destinations. It's an opportunity to show that digital nomadism can be a positive force for local economies, creating real connections between travelers and residents. The model, already tested in more than ten countries, is based on a simple premise: when the benefits stay in the community, everyone wins. The nomad has a more authentic experience. The local owner has a new source of income. And Brazil, with its diversity and its talent for hospitality, has everything it takes to be one of the most important destinations in the network.
