AUSTRIA: From the opera stage to practice: Ekaterina Potego opens Cranio Balances

“Ekaterina Potego” – From soprano to craniosacral practitioner.

For years her voice had a healing effect; today Ekaterina Potego helps through gentle craniosacral practice at "Cranio Balances".

“I am convinced that people find it easier to achieve greater well-being when they feel understood and well supported.”
— Ekaterina Potego, craniosacral practitioner

VIENNA, AUSTRIA, July 13, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / -- For many years, soprano Ekaterina Potego has delighted audiences in concert halls and opera houses, particularly in Austria. Concert tours have also

taken her to China, India, Uzbekistan, and numerous other European countries.

Today she works in a different place and in a different way with people. In her practice Cranio Balances at Stadiongasse 5/2a in Vienna's first district, she supports people with craniosacral therapy.

The transition from the stage to the treatment room was no accident. Ekaterina Potego comes from a family of doctors and grew up surrounded by medicine and healing. Her ability to connect with people and listen attentively has also been with her since her time as a singer. However, the decisive impetus for her career change came from an encounter at the Klosterneuburg nursing home, where she was volunteering.

There she met a resident who was wheelchair-bound and, according to her doctors, had exhausted all treatment options. During the course of their support, the woman made remarkable progress. She was able to stand up independently again, shower on her own, write, speak more clearly, see and eat better, and perform many everyday tasks independently. Each of these steps meant a greater degree of independence and quality of life for her.

“I am very pleased with such developments, and they show what is sometimes possible,” says Ekaterina Potego.

Today she runs her own practice and supports people with a wide variety of ailments and burdens. Many seek her help because of long-standing tension, persistent stress, or after physically demanding periods in their lives.

The focus of her work is the myofascial system, the vagus nerve, and the structures of the head and craniosacral system. Ekaterina Potego works with mindful and targeted touch on the head, neck, spine, and rib cage. The aim of her work is to release tension patterns in the tissue, support the natural mobility of the structures, and stimulate the body's own regulatory processes.

She pays particular attention to the tissues and structures of the head area, as well as the autonomic nervous system. Her work is not limited to the head – her touch follows the tension lines of the entire body. This creates space for the body to reorganize itself, release tension, and regain balance.

The sessions take place fully clothed on a couch.

Six months after opening, the practice has already gained a reputation. Many clients come by recommendation, and many decide to continue with further support after their first session.

Some patients seek treatment for persistent muscle tension, others want to regain their strength after a stressful period in their lives or a medical procedure. A striking number have been carrying their ailments for years and have long since resigned themselves to them. Their joy is all the greater when tensions release and they experience changes they previously thought impossible. Clients report such experiences time and again.

For Ekaterina Potego, this brings things full circle. She used to touch people with her voice. Today, she touches them with the extraordinary sensitivity, perception, and attentiveness she has cultivated over decades as a singer. What was once dedicated to music, she now devotes to serving the people who seek her help.
