Prize-winners of the European Championships Alexandra Stepanova - Ivan Bukin take the second place (88.76). Debutants of the national championship Diana Davis - Gleb Smolkin close the top three (83.99).
Victoria Sinitsina – Nikita Katsalapov confidently performed the blues "You Can Leave Your Head On" and the funk "Brickhouse", receiving 4 levels of difficulty for all five elements of rhythm dance.
- Today we had one of the best rentals definitely. Before the start, I was very
nervous, but when Vika and I were already on the ice for the performance of the athletes, and the audience began to knock and clap, from that moment I began to enjoy. During the rental, I just looked at Vika without taking my eyes off, she looked at me and I was just the happiest. I didn't want to stop at all.Yes, I was very nervous before the start, but the audience here is just crazy. "Own Audience" is very cool, we love it, and always love to ride at home. The audience helped us a lot. Even before the start of the ride, during the five-minute period, we were so supported, clapped, shouted something to Vika. Very cool, - Nikita Katsalapov admitted.
- And then the music to which we ride the rhythm dance turns on itself. Both at the disco, for example, and on the ice. At daily training, we do not get tired of it a bit. We are always happy to turn it on, and every time we start dancing for the first time, - Victoria explained.
Alexandra Stepanova – Ivan Bukin also demonstrated progress in technical and artistic terms, interpreting the hip hop "Everybody" and the blues "Monster", and thanks to the bright rental broke the applause of the audience. After the Grand Prix in France, a large group of specialists began to work with the skaters - the coaches of the athletes Alexander Svinin and Irina Zhuk are helped by Nikolai Morozov and Alexey Gorshkov.
- I think for every athlete a new look from the outside is a plus. Our cooperation with Nikolai Morozov began after the Grand Prix in France. And we did not have much time, only three weeks, but we began to prepare for the Russian Championship with a new breath. Thanks to working with him, we received a lot of new information: on technique, costumes, hairstyle, we can say, from the top of the head to the heels. With the arrival of Nikolai Morozov, we wanted to do even more. And all together, with our coaches, such a large team, we are working on all aspects of the programs, - explained Alexandra Stepanova.
- We have changed quite a lot in rhythm dance since the last competition, and today was one of the best rentals of this program. It's nice that at the Russian Championship - and this is a serious start - we managed to cope with everything and show what we were working on, - added Ivan Bukin.
- I would like to thank the audience for their incredible support. We didn't even have time to be summoned to say our names, and we could already hear a standing ovation. It was insanely nice and warm for us. With such a mood we started our rental, performed very confidently and enjoyed today, - said Sasha.
The figure skater explained why they decided to change, to make a new dress for rhythm dance:
- I really like the new dress for rhythm dance. We noticed a trend that everyone is now coming out in black, gloomy colors, and decided that we wanted something bright, because our program is clockwork.
Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin did not look like debutants at the Yubileiny Ice Arena, although they spend the first season at the adult level. Igor Shpilband's students opened the competitions of 14 dance couples and to the music of "Boom Boom Pow" and "Bom Bidi Bom" lit up the audience with their performance.
Answering a question about the first starting number, Gleb said that he had a premonition that this was exactly what would happen.
- There wasn't much excitement about the first starting number. We thought only about each other and the rental and tried to show the maximum. We are moving progressively: at the moment the next step is free dance, everything else does not matter, - said the figure skater.
Tiffany Zagorski - Jonathan Gureiro are in 4th place with 79.36 points. For multiple winners of the Russian championships, the performance at the national championship was the first of the season, as the guys missed all the planned competitions due to injuries to their partner and the partner's illness. After the ride, Tiffany could not hide her tears and admitted that for her this was an exciting and important moment, since there was no absolute certainty that they would be able to perform at the national championships and skate like that.
Annabel Morozov - Andrey Bagin after the first type of program are 5. Students of Nikolay Morozov and Alexey Gorshkov showed a very interesting dance in the style of hip hop, but, unfortunately, did not pick up the levels in the tracks (78.02).
Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva - Egor Bazin,who are coached by Denis Samokhin and Oleg Sudakov, close the top six strongest duets of the championship (77.91).
