World champions in pair skating Anastasia Mishina - Alexander Gallyamov with an advantage of 0.90 points are ahead of European champions Alexandra Boykova - Dmitry Kozlovsky after a short program of sports pairs at the Russian Championships in St. Petersburg. The third place is occupied by two-time European champions Evgeniya Tarasova - Vladimir Morozov.

Alexandra Boykova – Dmitry Kozlovsky were in no way inferior to their teammates. Under Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, the bronze medalists of the World Championships gave out a powerful roll, including a 3C jump, a triple flip throw and elements of the fourth level. Athletes received 82.84 points. And Dmitry, who celebrated his birthday on this day, made himself a wonderful gift.

- We showed our program decently. Our goal is to skate with the music, together with the audience, when one complements the other. We have overcome this milestone today, - Dmitry admitted.

Answering the question with what sensations athletes compete almost on the "home ice", Dima said:

- St. Petersburg is a special city, and performing here is a special emotion. I want to say the most important thing: the Russian Championship cannot be unnerving and unexciting. The strongest athletes gather here, the best couples sit here. It's always not easy to perform here, but we work hard to overcome everything.

Evgenia Tarasova - Vladimir Morozov began their program to the music of "Metamorphosis Two" Philip Glass and "Experience" Ludovico Einaudi brightly - clean 3T, branded high twisting, and only an annoying error on the descent with the support, for which they received a basic level, somewhat spoiled the mood of the athletes, although they performed the rest of the elements well (78.68 points).

- It's a shame that a mistake was made on a very expensive element. Overall, the rental itself except for the support was good. So mixed feelings. At first, everything was absolutely normal on the support, personally according to my feelings. Made the transition, I went to one hand in the second position. The position began to swing, and that was the end of the support. But this is a technical error, definitely not nerves, all the main elements have already been made there before that, - explained Vladimir Morozov.

Especially for the Russian Championships, the skaters prepared new costumes for the short program, which were made for the couple by the famous master Olga Ryabenko.

- We decided to change it because there were different comments about the first costumes, Vova and I had slightly different colors. We decided to make one whole composition in the new costumes so that the colors more or less coincide. Well, just to update the costumes - it's always nice, - commented Evgeniya Tarasova.

Champions of Russia among juniors Yulia Artemyeva - Mikhail Nazarychev from Perm skated cleanly, with high-quality elements to the music from the film "Artist" and take 4th place (76.26).

The audience also appreciated the performance of the winners of the European Championship Daria Pavlyuchenko - Denis Khodykin to the music of "Be Italian". The students of Sergey Dobroskokov and Sergey Roslyakov again impressed with original tricks, but, unfortunately, the step-out of the partner on 3T did not allow the athletes to rise above the 5th place (75.40).

Yasmina Kadyrova - Ivan Balchenko,who have been training in the group of Moskvina and Minchuk since this season, confidently skated their program for an unusual Spanish version of Bolero and take 6th place (73.77).
