Mark Kondratyuk takes the second place (97.77), Makar Ignatov – the third (95.84). The gap between the skaters of the top three to 6th place is small, and on Friday we can expect a tense struggle in the free program.
In the short program under the tango "What is it about her" Evgeny Semenko performed a cascade of 4T + 3T, 4C and 3A and received the fourth level for two rotations and
the third - for the track and jump to the libela. The student of Tatiana and Alexey Mishin scored 98.03 points, demonstrating a dynamic performance.
After the short program, Eugene was taciturn.
-- I believe that regardless of how the short program rolls out, the athlete should always tune in to the next one, approach it as confidently and responsibly as possible, - the athlete commented.
According to Evgeny, he is especially pleased that the competitions are held in his native palace, where Alexei Mishin's group constantly trains.
- True, usually we have training at the training rink, on the main arena - various shows and competitions.
Mark Kondratyuk also skated cleanly with 4T, 3A and the cascade 4C + 2T. The student of Svetlana Sokolovskaya especially gave his all in the step track in his program to the music from the film "Magnificent Century". All spins and track were rated at 4 levels (97.77 points).
- The short program was not perfect: the cascade should have been 4-3, but overall I'm satisfied. It was, as usual, exciting, but there are no emotions yet, I still need to skate tomorrow. It was easier to perform here than at the Grand Prix. Apparently, because the stage in Sochi was my first start of this level, - said Mark.
Makar Ignatov, who trains in the group of Evgeny Rukavitsyn, began his program for the song "Iron Sky" with the already branded 4C, added a cascade of 4T-3T and 3A, but lost a point, as he did not meet the time allotted by the rules.
- There were rough edges at the box office, and the hardest part, the free skate, is yet to come. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Speaking of grades, it's my fault that I didn't do better. It would be inappropriate to discuss them. My area of responsibility is to skate, and the judges are to give grades.
I have a short program to the music of "Iron Sky". If you listen to the text, we are talking about the struggle and internal protest of the system. Throughout the program, I show the discrepancy between the external and internal worlds," Makar said.
Alexey Erokhov gave an excellent rental for the song "Fallin" with 4C + 3T, 4T and 3A, and only the track was the second level. The student of Victoria Volchkova, the 2018 World Junior Champion, returned to a high level after a series of injuries and takes 4th place (95.24).
Mikhail Kolyada after the first round is fifth with 94.26 points. The current champion of Russia confidently performed 4C + 3T and 4T, but made a single axel instead of a triple. Kolyada "earned" good points for high-quality spins and steps, which were all on the 4th level and are close to the leaders of the competition.
Alexander Samarin impressed the audience with the 4L + 3T cascade, but fell from 4F, very unsuccessfully - he dissected the chin, and the doctors were forced to put brackets and a tightening patch on the wound. Alexander is still in 6th place (94.23).
European champion Dmitry Aliyev jumped a cascade of 4T + 3T and 3L (however, instead of a triple lutz of four turns was planned). Unfortunately, he broke the triple axel and takes 12th place (86.40).
