HANOI, VIETNAM, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- As part of its annual initiatives supporting local communities and education, Lux Travel DMC , Vietnam's leading luxury tailor-made tour operator , announces the deployment of its "Clean Water for Schools" solidarity program at the school in

the remote village of Rao Con, Quang Binh province. Conducted jointly with the LuxGroup Foundation, this field intervention combines the installation of a centralized water filtration system with the distribution of a full set of school supplies, books, and essential equipment for the school's 51 students and teaching staff.

Located in the buffer zone of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, the village of Rao Con is home to a community belonging to the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic minority. Nestled deep within a valley surrounded by dense karst massifs, the village remains particularly difficult to access, connected to the rest of the municipality by rugged forest tracks that often become impassable during periods of heavy rain. This unique geographical situation, while preserving the natural environment and traditional ways of life in the village, imposes significant daily constraints on residents, particularly regarding basic infrastructure and access to essential public services.

The village school is the beating heart of this mountain community. Its classes comprise 51 students enrolled in primary and lower secondary levels, taught by dedicated teachers who often live on-site for extended periods. Until now, the school had no connection to a running water network and had to rely entirely on forest runoff and streams flowing from the surrounding rock formations. Although vital for the survival of the hamlet, this mountain water is highly vulnerable to seasonal variations: loaded with mineral sediments and organic residues after each downpour, it needed to be transported manually and then boiled before it could be drunk.

This constant reliance on untreated water placed a heavy logistical burden on teachers and posed a persistent health concern for schoolchildren. The lack of a safe and readily accessible water source within the school grounds limited the implementation of regular hygiene measures and complicated meal preparation for children who remained at school throughout the day. Faced with this situation, identified during preliminary site visits, Lux Travel DMC and the LuxGroup Foundation decided to intervene by providing a technical solution tailored to the realities of the natural environment.

To address this situation concretely and immediately, a centralized water treatment and filtration unit was transported, assembled, and installed at the school. Designed to directly treat raw water drawn from upstream streams, this technical system effectively removes suspended impurities, rock particles, and the most common contaminants. The system now supplies secure distribution points within the courtyard and common areas, ensuring a continuous supply of clean water for drinking and hygiene purposes for children, teachers, and staff.

Recognizing that student well-being is inextricably linked to this, the Lux Travel DMC teams wanted to complement this technical infrastructure with a significant educational support component. Prior to the trip to Rao Con, a large-scale fundraising campaign mobilized all of the tour operator's employees across its various offices. This internal initiative resulted in a substantial collection of learning materials: dictionaries, official textbooks, illustrated children's books, notebooks, complete pencil cases, and pens. Clothing suitable for the rigors of the mountain season, as well as sports equipment, were also distributed to each student to encourage physical activity and enhance recreational time.

This initiative, carried out in the heart of the central mountains, exemplifies the company's commitment to sustainability, a philosophy that has guided it for two decades. “We believe that the most authentic luxury lies in leaving a positive impact wherever we go. Every trip can contribute to building a better future for local communities,” says Ha Tien Hung, Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing at Lux Travel DMC. “Our clients travel throughout Vietnam in search of unspoiled landscapes and genuine encounters.”It is our fundamental duty to take concrete action so that the populations living in these remote regions also benefit from the positive effects of our presence and can see their living conditions improve.

This vision is part of the guiding principle "Travel with Purpose – Luxury that Gives Back," adopted by Lux Travel DMC to rethink the societal impact of the tourism industry. As a destination management company operating in ecologically and culturally sensitive areas, the company refuses to limit its activities to simply providing high-end logistical services. It believes that the sustainability of a tourist destination rests first and foremost on the vitality, dignity, and health of the indigenous populations who are its age-old guardians. Active support for isolated schools is one of the most crucial levers for breaking down geographical isolation and offering younger generations the future prospects they deserve.

The inauguration of the Rao Con water filtration plant is not a one-off or isolated event, but rather the direct continuation of a structured community-based approach implemented year after year by the group. Complementing the actions of the LuxGroup Foundation, which relies exclusively on the transparent management of in-kind donations without fundraising, the company ensures close monitoring of the implemented projects. Regular contact with school administrators and village representatives will help users effectively adopt the water treatment system throughout the seasons.

Building on this project in Quang Binh province, Lux Travel DMC intends to continue and gradually expand its solidarity initiatives to other remote regions of the country. Whether supporting schools for ethnic minorities in the northern highlands or addressing local vulnerabilities in the deltas and rural areas of central Luxembourg, the company prioritizes an approach based on first understanding the real needs expressed by the communities themselves. By placing education, access to vital resources and respect for local identities at the heart of its commitment, Lux Travel DMC reaffirms its desire to design a caring tourism, capable of combining the excellence of tailor-made travel and shared social responsibility.
