Natalia Khabibullina - Ilya Knyazhuk won the Junior Championship of Russia 2022, scoring 201.82 points for two programs. Yulia Artemyeva – Mikhail Nazarychev won silver (200.53). Ekaterina Chikmareva – Matvey Yanchenkov – bronze (189.43).
Natalia Khabibullina - Ilya Knyazhuk for the first time in their career won the title of champions of Russia among juniors. After the short program, the students of Sergey Dobroskokov were second, but won the free skate and were ahead of the current champions of Russia 2020 Yulia Artemyeva - Mikhail Nazarychev.
The free skate rental in Saransk did not turn out perfectly. In the 3Lz+1Eu+3S cascade, Ilya
doubled lutz. The rest of the elements, including the parallel 3rd Rietberger, were made on the pluses and 4th levels. Complex jumping content, which no pair in the world does, and the minimum number of marks brought skaters to the winners.
- It was easy to ride. It's a shame I doubled lutz. No, I wasn't worried. That's what happened," Ilya commented, not yet knowing the final layout in pair skating.
When, a few seconds later, the ratings of Yulia Artemyeva and Mikhail Nazarychev appeared on the monitor, Natalia and Ilya did not immediately believe that they had won the tournament.
- We believed, but we didn't expect. At the beginning of the season, I didn't even think about these starts at all. We started with Ilya, roughly speaking, from scratch. At the last championship of Russia we were eighth. But that season in general was very difficult, with injuries, illnesses, so then we were preparing for the championship of Russia at the last, one might say, moment. But they were already coming here to show everything that had been accumulated. Moreover, this season we successfully started at the Junior Grand Prix, - said Natalia.
"I can't believe that we won yet," Ilya said. - We train in the group of Sergey Vladimirovich Dobroskokov. We train on the same ice with Dasha Pavlyuchenko - Denis Khodykin, which is very motivating. We look at them, we try. We are trying to catch up and sometime in the future to overtake. We are glad that we have qualified for the junior world, we are glad that we have gathered and rolled out the program. The first place, of course, is no less welcome.
According to the guys, the championship title they won in Saransk at the YCHM will not significantly change anything.
- That doesn't mean anything. Especially since we didn't skate perfectly here. Just a start. Experience. We'll fix it. At the same time, as the respected Alexei Yagudin said, it does not matter how many points, what your record is, what is important is the place you took," Ilya joked.
The winners of last year's russian championship experienced Yulia Artemyeva - Mikhail Nazarychev in the free program could not avoid mistakes. The stumbling block was the flip and rietberger. On these elements, pavel Slyusarenko's students lost points.
- The rental didn't work. I don't know why. It didn't work. We set up as usual, but... I don't even know how to comment... We will try to rehabilitate ourselves in the junior world, - said Mikhail.
- I'm not happy with the rental. I don't even understand why things didn't go according to plan in the second part of the program, even though we started well. The mood was normal. Even at the Russian Championship it was more exciting, - added Julia.
Debutants of the championship of Russia Ekaterina Chikmareva - Matvey Yanchenkov relatively recently stood in a pair. But over the summer and the beginning of this season, we have come a long way. The pair made their debut last spring at the Junior Senior Russian Championships in Sochi, but progressed very quickly.
Unfortunately, at their debut national championship, the guys also made mistakes at the box office - first on the 3rd salchow, which pulled a mark on the rietberger ejection. Annoying was the ending of the ride, when the partner lost his balance and fell.
- We drove the first part well, did everything, the 3T + 2T + 2T cascade, but on the parallel salchow an error came out. I thought everything was going well. But on the replay it was clear that the left shoulder released, did not feel it during the rental and sat on the fifth point. And at the end... I don't know. I was ready to finish the program, but my legs went forward. It's good that Katya was not injured, otherwise she would have been injured. This has never happened before. Not in training, not anywhere. Never when we studied. Just my sloppiness. The only plus is that they qualified for the YCHM, - matvey commented.
Bronze medalists of last year's junior national championship Anastasia Mukhortova - Dmitry Evgeniev in Saransk took 4th place (188.22). The skaters ripped off support, which was nullified. Apparently, they were knocked down by a huge desire to skate at the maximum.
- It's hard to say anything. Upset. To drive perfectly, cleanly and make such a mistake... Okay, it would have been at least once. But we have never had such a thing that this is how we broke the support, - commented Dmitry.
- Stupid kind of coincidence. Sometimes, a crooked rise will turn out, but to do so... - explained Nastya.
-- If you could pull that support out, I'd do it. More than once I had to fight in competitions, you had to pull it out of a deep hole of support. But in this situation, there were no options... But what is - as it is... Despite the mistake, we tried to stay in the image until the end. Everybody did. We are always not Nastya and Dima in the program, but other people – heroes, whose images we convey. In tango, there is passion, even with a dose of hatred. And in the arbitrary – lyrics, we are two people in love... But to sum up the roll, the cascade was done, the jumps were collected, the rietberger was thrown out. Most of all, they were worried about it... We will continue to work. Life does not end there, - said Dmitry.
-- This is a good experience for us, - Nastya summed up.
Ekaterina Goinisch – Ilya Mironov became the fifth (187.35).
- In general, not to say that we are satisfied with the rental, but we were able to give up without falling, we were able to show our maximum at the moment, to complicate all jumping elements to triples, except for the oiler, of course, because even Arthur Dmitriev cannot do it. Just kidding... It remains to analyze the levels. To improve the elements that we complicated, and to achieve purity.
If we talk about the plipple - there was a mark on the lutz vyboros. And on the second jump in the 3Lz+1Eu+3S cascade - I decided to land a salchow on two legs. These are two obvious jambs, the rest of the shortcomings we will see in the printout, - commented Ilya.
The production program this season the guys turned out to be bright, ballet. The hand of the master - soloist of the ensemble Igor Moiseev Ramil Mehdiev, who works with the team of figure skaters Nina Moser, is noticeable.
- Tatyana Druchinina also helped us. She started working with us on the program at summer training camp and throughout the season. Alla Viktorovna Kapranova came to training, worked a lot with us. Ramil, of course," Katya added.
- This is a common work of three choreographic masters. Well, Katya and I licked this program a lot in front of the mirror. Thank you Kate for tolerating every quibble I have in front of the mirror. I find fault a lot. The hand should be 20 degrees higher and so on. I cling to everything my eye notices. The length of the sock... For three years I was associated with ballet. Indirectly, let's put it that way. I had good connections, thanks to which I saw the ballet painting from the inside. I went to performances, talked to ballet dancers... And I personally like this ballet program very much. While we do not know about the plans of the coaches, our team for the next season, but I would like to leave this program, and with a short experiment. For me, Katya may disagree with me, the arbitrary one is brighter here. More memorable. And I would like to refine it. More and more.
- If we talk about the performance in Saransk, we can say this: we are satisfied, - Ekaterina explained.
- As in the exam -- fail, oud, excellent... Satisfactorily -- about this rental. The short one in Saransk was better. They coped with the arbitrary percentage by 75 percent. Our goal was to try everything. Overall, it worked. Without didacture, quite a satisfactory rental at the moment, - said Ilya.
- After this start, we can say for sure that we worked together with Ilya. When I paired up with him, I couldn't do anything. Thanks to Ilya that he helps me every day, every minute, - Katya admitted.
"It's itchy and itchy," the partner joked.
- It's not. Thanks to Ilya, we came to this result. If it wasn't for Ilya, nothing would have happened.
- If Katya hadn't done this, we wouldn't have progressed so quickly. Katya, of course, is arguing with me about something, but we are still moving forward. The main thing is that we complement each other in many ways," Ilya said.
Polina Kostyukovich – Alexey Bryukhanov finished the competition sixth (184.04).
- The main conclusion after the championship is that you need to work with your head, fight with your "cockroaches" that have settled there, and move forward. This is our last junior season, the last junior championship of Russia. I approached this start with a cool head, tried to do what we worked on all season. I wanted to calmly finish the season of junior skating and go out into the adults.
If we talk about rentals in Saransk, the plus is that we have not only confidence, but a professional approach. We arrived at the start, no blurred look, no fear. Just did the work and left. Such a calm professional approach. More conscious, more adult.
Emotionally, everything went well. The only thing is to get rid of cockroaches that have settled in your head, interfere with clean rolling, clean jumps. There was no time to do it during the season, so the off-season is a great time to prepare for the transition to adulthood.
We have fully adapted to the new group, the team, the new place, Moscow. At first, everything was new. But we understood that we needed to take a new step, we needed a new breath of air. Alex and I had a good base. We had excellent coaches in St Petersburg who prepared us. Now we are working closely with Arina Andreevna Ushakova. She leads us. We hope everything will work out, - said Polina.
- It doesn't matter where the athletes train. The main thing is that from themselves there is a maximum return and desire to work. And we have it," Said Alexey.
Silver medalists of last year's Junior Championship of Russia Ksenia Akhantyeva - Valery Kolesov finished the tournament in 7th place with 179.31 points. Before the start of the season, the skaters moved to a new group, moved to Sochi and began to work under the guidance of coaches Fedor Klimov and Dmitry Savinov.
- To sum it up in general, all things considered, it can be considered satisfactory. Of course, it was not possible to show my maximum. Absolutely. We tried to complicate the program, but so far we have not succeeded. At the moment, we are not yet ready to perform all the elements for a good plus. A lot of flaws came out due to the complication of the arbitrary. We planned a cascade of salchows - oiler - salchows 3-3, tried to make elements to the 4th level, but it's still hard. We will work.
Moving on to new coaches was our decision. In principle, this is justified. As for the results, then everything depends not only on the coaches, but also on us, on our desire, efficiency and motivation. We quickly adapted to the new training process, found mutual understanding with the coaches. We love it. Let's hope that over time, quantity, as they say, will grow into quality. Ksenia and I have experience and a desire to progress, - said Valery Kolesov.
At the championship of Russia in Saransk, all sets of awards were played. The winners of the competition were Ilya Yablokov and Sofia Akatyeva (single skating), Irina Khavronina - Dario Chirisano (dancing) and Natalia Khabibullina - Ilya Knyazhuk (pairs).
The expanded composition of the Russian national team for the Junior World Championships in Sofia will be named by the FFKKR until February 14. The final composition of the participants of the men's competitions at the YCHM will be determined after the final of the Cup of Russia.
