CANNES, France, June 3, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LiquidStack , the global leader in comprehensive liquid cooling services for data centers, today unveiled at Datacloud Global Congress CDU GigaModular™ , the industry's first modular and scalable Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) with up to 10 MW of cooling capacity, thanks to a modular platform and scalable installation approach.
Driven by the dramatic increase in the adoption of AI, cloud computing, and other data-
intensive technologies, the global data center liquid cooling market is expected to grow from $5.17 billion in 2025 to approximately $15.75 billion in 2030. Simultaneously, the incredibly demanding nature of AI workloads is pushing data center thermal management requirements to unprecedented heights. With the upcoming arrival of systems such as Nvidia’s B300 and GB300, and subsequent generations of even more powerful iterations that will inevitably follow, the need for future-proof cooling capabilities has never been greater. These increasingly sophisticated technologies generate thermal densities far exceeding those of traditional processing units, with power densities already exceeding 120 kW per rack and reaching 600 kW by the end of 2027.“AI will continue to push thermal output to new extremes, and data centers need cooling systems that can be easily deployed, managed, and scaled to meet heat rejection demands as they increase,” said Joe Capes, CEO of LiquidStack. “With cooling capacity up to 10 MW in N, N+1, or N+2, the GigaModular is a platform like no other: we designed it to be the only coolant distribution unit our customers will ever need. It future-proofs design choices for direct-to-chip liquid cooling, without traditional limits or boundaries.”
Key features of LiquidStack's GigaModular CDU platform include:
- Fully scalable cooling capacity : Modular and scalable platform supporting single-phase direct-to-chip liquid cooling thermal loads from 2.5 to 10 MW.
- Pump Module : High-efficiency IE5 pump and dual BPHx provide scalable performance; dual 25µm filters protect critical components to ensure reliable operation at scale.
- Control Module : Centralized design, separate pump and control modules reduce both component count and complexity.
- Instrumentation kits : centralized pressure, temperature and electromagnetic flow sensors optimize control.
- Simplified access for maintenance: Maintenance possible from the front of the unit, without rear or side access, which allows the system to be placed against the wall.
- Optional configuration: Skid-mounted system with pre-installed rail and overhead piping or shipped as separate cabinets for on-site assembly.
LiquidStack will showcase its new GigaModular CDU at Datacloud Global Congress in Cannes, France, from June 3-5 at the Palais des Festivals. Attendees can visit booth 88 for an immersive virtual reality demonstration.
Request for quotation for the GigaModular CDU will begin in September 2025, with production taking place at LiquidStack's facilities in Carrollton, Texas, USA. For more information, visit: https://liquidstack.com/cdu-direct-to-chip/giga-modular.
