CHINA: Expanding openness to the world and deepening exchange and cooperation

CHENGDU, China, June 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 20th annual West China International Expo was held in Chengdu from May 25 to 29 under the theme of "Deepening Reform for More Expansion, Expanding Openness for More Growth."

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the fair, which attracted more than

3,000 businesses from 62 countries and regions, with Bolivia, Cuba and Nicaragua also attending for the first time. Representatives of the honorary host countries, Hungary and Laos, said that they have established potential cooperation with several Chinese enterprises through the fair and see a wide potential for cooperation with Western China in the fields of culture, tourism, technology and gastronomy. The new generation artificial sun "China's HL-3" and other new and pioneering technologies and products were introduced at the fair, which say a lot about the advanced production capabilities and scientific innovation potential of Western China. At present, 13 of China's 80 advanced manufacturing clusters at the national level are located in the western provinces.

During the fair, various entities from Western China signed 416 investment cooperation projects with domestic and international investors worth a total of 354.3 billion yuan. Trade and economic networking events, such as the "Invest in Sichuan" Multinational Enterprise Symposium (Italian Section) and the 15th West China International Conference on Supplier Projects, have provided a broader platform for exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises.
