RASPIPAV tastings and dedicated masterclasses will bring Roero DOCG wines and European salumi to Montréal and Québec City this October
ROME, ITALY, October 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- From freshly sliced European salumi to guided pairings with Roero DOCG wines, Montréal and Québec City will offer Canadian audiences different ways to discover European food and wine this October. Sip and Savor will take part in RASPIPAV in both cities before continuing its journey with two dedicated masterclasses exploring the encounter between wine and salumi. The first stop will be RASPIPAV Montréal, from October 17 to 19, followed by RASPIPAV Québec City on October 24 and 25. At both events, Sip and Savor will welcome visitors to a dedicated tasting area where Roero DOCG wines and European salumi will be presented side by side. The wine selection will showcase different expressions of the denomination, including Roero Arneis DOCG and Roero Rosso DOCG, while the deli meats will be sliced and served on site, allowing visitors to discover the diversity of both product categories.
The experience will continue beyond RASPIPAV. In each city, Sip and Savor will take the next step by bringing European salumi and Roero DOCG wines together in a dedicated masterclass, moving from product discovery to guided pairing.
On October 21 at the Sofitel Montréal Golden Mile, Karyne Duplessis-Piche will lead the wine tasting alongside chef Pasquale Vari, who will bring a culinary perspective to the pairing experience. Participants will explore nine Roero DOCG wines paired with five European salumi, examining how the different characteristics of the wines and deli meats interact at the table.
The same approach will continue in Québec City on October 26, with a second masterclass at the École hôtelière de la Capitale. Here, Philippe Lapeyrie and chef Pasquale Vari will lead participants through a new selection of nine Roero DOCG wines, once again paired with the five European salumi.
From the open tasting format of RASPIPAV to the more in-depth approach of the masterclasses, the October programme reflects the idea at the heart of Sip and Savor: discovering European wines and deli meats both for their individual identities and through the combinations they can create together.
Sip and Savor is a three-year campaign by Consorzio Tutela Roero and Istituto Valorizzazione Salumi Italiani (IVSI), co-funded by the European Union, to promote European wines and deli meats in the US and Canada. More than a promotion, it is an invitation to explore and share the cultural and sensory richness of two European excellences through exclusive content, events and experiences across North America.
