The event in Bogotá brought together 20 manufacturers and opened new business opportunities in Latin American markets.

BUENOS AIRES, COLOMBIA, October 16, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / -- The Brazilian machinery and equipment industry closed ColombiaPlast 2026 with USD 23 million in business, thanks to the participation of 20

manufacturers in the Brazil Pavilion in Bogotá. Of this amount, USD 3.7 million corresponds to sales made during the trade show, while an estimated USD 19.3 million in business will be generated from negotiations that will continue after the event, according to estimates from the Brazilian delegation.
Participation was facilitated through Brazil Machinery Solutions, a program developed by ABIMAQ (Brazilian Association of the Machinery and Equipment Industry) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), aimed at promoting Brazilian machinery and equipment exports and developing international business for companies in the sector. At ColombiaPlast, this initiative brought together manufacturers with solutions for different stages of the production chain, such as transformation, printing, automation, materials handling, and recycling.

According to Patrícia Gomes, Executive Director of Foreign Markets at ABIMAQ and a specialist in foreign trade for the machinery and equipment industry, the concentration of opportunities in the period following the trade fair indicates that the discussions initiated in Bogotá have progressed to stages requiring technical and commercial follow-up. "This is an important step forward in consolidating supply relationships in the region," she explains.

Beyond the Colombian Market
: During the event, Brazilian companies registered 792 business contacts, 419 of which were established with potential clients who had no prior business relationships with the exhibitors. Furthermore, the scope of participation extended beyond the Colombian market. The Brazil Pavilion also hosted representatives from Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela, allowing manufacturers to learn about the demands of eight other Latin American countries in a single trade promotion effort.

Gomes notes that the presence of buyers from different countries also helps manufacturers compare demand profiles and identify distribution or supply opportunities in other markets in the region. "Face-to-face contact helps improve the quality of business prospecting because it allows for a more accurate understanding of the buyer's needs, the requirements of the transaction, and the conditions that may determine a future contract," he notes.

The Brazilian delegation included Lakatos, Mecalor, Vizuri, Fibermaq, Carton Access, RTK, Pronatec, G4 Máquinas, Novaflexo, Cristofolini, Reinos, Laserflex, A. Carnevalli, Hece, Multi Pack Plas, Alfaflexo, Polimáquinas, Mega Steel, Golden Fix, and Seibt. The group presented machines, components, and systems for injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, flexographic printing, material converting, composites, tooling, automation, reel handling, recycling, and production line integration.

Interest in the next edition:
All 20 Brazilian exhibitors expressed their interest in participating in the next edition of ColombiaPlast. At the same time, 100% of them also considered the role of Brazil Machinery Solutions significant or highly relevant to the results achieved during the event.

According to the specialist, the unanimous intention to return demonstrates that the trade fair has established itself as a strategic point of contact with regional buyers. "The next edition can serve to continue the negotiations that have already begun and offer a space for the Brazilian industry to strengthen its relationships with clients and partners," the executive stated.

Held from September 28 to October 2, ColombiaPlast 2026 brought together more than 320 exhibitors and focused on the circular economy, with a particular emphasis on recycling technologies, recycled resins, ecodesign, and solutions aimed at modernizing the plastics, rubber, petrochemical, and packaging supply chains. The trade fair ran concurrently with the Bogotá International Industrial Fair (FIB), which expanded the flow of buyers, suppliers, and industry professionals at Corferias.
