serving summonses, subpoenas, and court documents in all 78 municipalities of Puerto Rico and in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.

The portal addresses a persistent complaint from the legal profession on the island: the difficulty of finding a process server who will respond, document each attempt, and return proof of service that can withstand a challenge. Under Rule 4.3(c) of the Rules of Civil Procedure, the 120-day period for service is non-extendable, and the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that its expiration results in dismissal.

“Puerto Rico does not license private process servers, and attorneys pay the price when service fails,” said C. Constantin Poindexter Salcedo, attorney and founder of the Poindexter network. “We organize this unit like an investigative division: badged process servers, a written protocol for each type of party, photographic documentation with a geotagging stamp, and attorney supervision on every case.”

The firm’s process servers are former law enforcement officers and former marshals. The service declaration is signed under penalty of perjury within 24 hours of delivery. Every assignment is reviewed and quoted before the first attempt, and the attorney receives email notification of each action.
