KREMS AN DER DONAU, LOWER AUSTRIA, August 3, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / -- Sustainable technical materials – including PC, PETG, PCTG and ABS – will be showcased August 15–16 at the Hannover Congress Centrum
Nobufil GmbH, Austria's first sustainable 3D
printing filament manufacturer with integrated recycling and its own filament production, will present its entire portfolio of technical filaments at the Maker Faire Hannover, which will take place from August 15th to 16th, 2026 at the Hannover Congress Centrum. The company develops and manufactures technical filaments exclusively from recycled industrial plastics sourced from Austria and neighboring EU countries. All materials – including all engineering grades – are made from 100% recycled polymers – a unique achievement in the industry, as most technical filament manufacturers still rely on virgin plastics. All products are manufactured locally and combine high mechanical performance, reliable processing, and a clear commitment to the circular economy.
Complete engineering portfolio – all from sustainable, recycled sources
Nobufil's product range includes carbon and glass fiber reinforced variants, as well as special engineering grades for industrial applications:
- ASAx CF – Extremely weather-resistant, UV-stabilized, and rigid – ideal for outdoor applications and functional parts exposed to sunlight
- PETG GF – Glass fiber reinforced for excellent dimensional stability and reduced warping
- PETG CF – Carbon reinforced for high stiffness with good chemical resistance
- PCTG CF – Tough carbon blend with a smooth surface and excellent layer adhesion
- PLAx GF – 10% glass fiber reinforced modified PLA made from recycled industrial waste. Through impact modification, PLAx GF offers increased tear and fracture strength similar to ABS, while retaining the typical printing properties of PLA.
- ABSx ESD – Dissipative filament (surface resistance 10⁷–10⁹ Ω) – perfect for electronics manufacturing, workshops, and cleanroom environments
- PLAx CF – Lightweight carbon filament with optimized surface quality for visible parts
- PLAx – Modified PLA with significantly increased impact strength for tough functional parts
- ASA – Weather-resistant grade without reinforcement for general outdoor use
- PCx – Modified polycarbonate blend with exceptional impact strength and heat resistance (112 °C HDT)
- PCx CF – Carbon fiber reinforced polycarbonate for extreme stiffness and high load-bearing capacity
Every engineering filament is made from recycled polymers – not just the standard grades, but the entire technical portfolio. Visitors can see live-printed examples such as durable drone frames, weatherproof sensor housings, and ESD-safe component carriers – demonstrating that sustainable, recycled materials can overcome real-world engineering challenges across various industries.
Standard filaments PETG, PCTG and ABS are also shown.
In addition to its high-end technical materials, Nobufil presents its sustainably produced standard filaments – PETG, PCTG and ABS filaments . All are made from recycled industrial waste and offer excellent printing properties, reliability and consistent quality.
The PETG line deserves special attention: Nobufil offers both glossy/translucent variants with excellent layer adhesion and robustness, as well as a new matte series that delivers a high-quality, velvety finish – with the same impact resistance and layer adhesion as standard PETG. Available in six new colors, the matte PETG filaments effectively conceal layer lines and are perfect for cosplay props, architectural models, interior design objects, and consumer goods. Both glossy and matte PETG filaments print with virtually no warping, are odorless, and can be processed on almost all common 3D printers.
PCTG 3D printing material offers a tough, durable alternative with a smooth surface, while ABS – made from recycled industrial plastics – exhibits significantly less warping and reduced odor compared to conventional ABS, making it suitable for use even on open printers.
Compared to conventional competitor products made from virgin plastics, Nobufil's standard filaments reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 80% while delivering performance on par with or exceeding that of traditional alternatives – all while being completely sustainable.
Special trade fair discounts for visitors:
Visitors to Maker Faire Hannover benefit from exclusive trade fair discounts on all filaments – available both directly at the booth and online during the event. Whether you want to stock up on your favorite PETG or try an engineering filament for the first time – the Nobufil team will be on hand to help you select the right material for your project.
Experience Nobufil at the Maker Faire Hannover 2026
At the Hannover Congress Centrum on August 15–16, visitors can experience live demonstrations and examine printed application examples showcasing the mechanical properties, surface quality, and processing behavior of the materials. The Nobufil team will be on-site to answer questions about material selection, printing parameters, and customized solutions for business customers.
CEO Statement
: “We are delighted to present our entire portfolio at Maker Faire Hannover,” says Alexander Datzinger, CEO of Nobufil. “From our everyday PETG, PCTG, and ABS filaments for reliable, beautiful prints, to our carbon-reinforced ASAx CF for outdoor applications, glass-fiber-reinforced PLAx GF for technical parts, and ABSx ESD for electronics manufacturing – we want to show the maker community that sustainability and high performance are no longer mutually exclusive. All our materials, including all engineering grades, are made from 100% recycled polymers – and that is still rare in this industry. These are true engineering materials, made from European waste, produced right here in Austria.”
All Nobufil materials are certified as technical engineering materials and are available in the company's own 3D filament shop as 1.75 mm filament on 1 kg spools (850 g for ASAx CF, PCTG CF and PLAx CF; 500 g for ABSx ESD).
About Nobufil GmbH:
Nobufil GmbH is Austria's first sustainable 3D printing filament manufacturer with integrated recycling and filament production. The company transforms industrial plastic waste – exclusively from Austria and neighboring EU countries – into high-quality technical filaments. Short transport routes minimize CO₂ emissions, and the company uses regionally available raw materials to ensure complete transparency and traceability.
