Lithuania: The President congratulates the President-elect of Switzerland

On Friday, Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, congratulated Karina Keller-Sutter, the newly elected President of the Swiss Confederation, who will assume the presidency new year.

In his letter of congratulations, the President expressed his satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between Lithuania and Switzerland and the warm friendship between the two countries, as well as with the successful economic cooperation and partnership in the fields of science and innovation.

“Our countries’ shared respect for fundamental democratic values and the

desire to preserve a rules-based world order make for effective cooperation in international organisations. I am confident that under your presidency we will continue to be united and consistent in addressing global challenges, especially in our efforts to achieve victory for Ukraine and lasting peace in Europe“, wrote the President in his letter.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda wished the President-elect every success in her duties and in her work for the welfare of the Swiss people.
