MACAU, May 28 - Organized by the Student Union of Macao Polytechnic University Seniors Academy, and co-organized by MPU Seniors Academy (ACS), the opening of the 2021/2022 Art Exhibition of the MPU Seniors Academy of Teachers and Students was held recently at the Lam Kan Exhibition Gallery of MPU. Many guests were invited to officiate and the scene was lively.
A total of 82 pieces of Chinese painting, calligraphy, Western painting, seal cutting
and digital photography as well as the artworks of 5 teachers were exhibited. Secretary-General of MPU Ms. Lei Vai Fong, Dean of ACS Dr. Lam Wan Mei, Chinese painting teacher Mr. Kuan Kun Cheong, calligraphy teacher Mr. Lei Kam Wa, Western painting teacher Ms. Poon Cam Mei, seal cutting teacher Mr. Cho Sai Keung, digital photography teacher Mr. Pedro Fu and President of the ACS Student Union Ms. Lao Sio To were invited to officiate the opening ribbon-cutting ceremony of the exhibition.During her speech at the opening ceremony, Dr. Lam Wan Mei firstly congratulated all the participating teachers and students, and was also glad to include the digital photography class of ACS Taipa campus to participate in the exhibition for the first time. This exhibition showcased various artworks of rich content, which were led by the guidance and encouragement of the teachers. Dr. Lam showed gratitude to the ACS Student Union and teachers for their great efforts for setting up this exhibition, giving the students a great opportunity to make learning memories. Dr. Lam hoped that through this exhibition, more people in society can better understand the achievements of elderly education, hence attracting more elderly to apply for ACS. Dr. Lam said that the ACS students and alumni have spread their footprints in various competitions and exhibitions in Macau, and she hoped to see more excellent works from students in the future. President of the ACS Student Union Ms. Lao Sio To said that the aim of holding this exhibition annually was to let students learn from each other through observing artworks, so as to inspire students, broaden their horizons and improve their level of creation. The students also thanked teachers’ guidance with excellent results.
The exhibition will be held from 24-30 May 2022 at the Lam Kan Exhibition Gallery of MPU. All interested parties are welcome to visit. In order to comply with the epidemic prevention guidelines of the Health Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, all visitors must wear their face masks, undergo body temperature checks, present a valid “Venue QR code” (also known as ‘Venue code’) and “Macao Health Code” of the day.
