Hubject and NOW GmbH to work together on data for charging infrastructure in the future

BERLIN, GERMANY, May 20, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Berlin-based company Hubject enables the simple sharing of mobility data and has developed software for NOW GmbH that makes charging easier and easier to use for e-car drivers. The software called CONDAX transfers charging station data, such as .B document status, into the DATEX II format. This enables a uniform and smooth connection of data from

different charging infrastructure operators (CPOs) to the mobility data marketplace (MDM). The software will be available as an open source product, so that CPOs can easily provide relevant data independently on the MDM in DATEX II format.

The MDM is operated by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) and is a neutral platform for the secure exchange of traffic data. The MDM fulfils the function of a so-called National Access Point (NAP), through which the member states of the European Union provide data on public and individual transport systems. This creates a resilient basis for electric, autonomous or fully networked driving in Germany. A uniform and comprehensive provision of static and dynamic data around the charging infrastructure allows the development of new digital applications.

The starting point for the data provision on the MDM and the new software from Hubject is the European co-financed project "ID and Data Collection for Sustainable fuels in Europe" (IDACS). Its aim is, among other things, to share static and dynamic data on charging infrastructure in dateX II format on the National Access Points. Location data, technical key figures, document status or even the price for ad-hoc charging can thus be offered by the e-roaming providers via the NAP. In the IDACS project, NOW GmbH is commissioned by the BMDV as an implementation organisation to achieve the project goals in Germany. The National Charging Infrastructure Control Centre under the umbrella of NOW GmbH will further develop the concept in anticipation of new European regulation in the interests of e-car users.

Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff, Managing Director (Spokesperson) NOW GmbH: "The newly developed software is an important building block for digitally networked charging station networks and customer-friendly and efficient electromobility throughout Europe. Information on available charging options will be even easier and more reliable for the steadily growing number of e-car users."

Carsten Puhl, CTO at Hubject: "A lot of charging station data is already available in aggregated form via Hubject's eRoaming functions. Also due to the high completeness of our data sets, they are predestined for a fast and efficient integration of all CPOs. A direct data transfer for each of the currently more than 1,000 CPOs in Germany would not have been expedient. Since we offer the software as an open source solution, it is easy to connect additional CPOs."

About Hubject:
Hubject simplifies the charging of electric vehicles. Via its eRoaming platform intercharge, the eMobility specialist connects charge point operators (CPOs) and eMobility Service Providers (EMPs) to enable standardized access to the charging infrastructure regardless of the grid. Hubject has built the world's largest cross-vendor charging network for electric vehicles by connecting CPO networks with over 400,000 connected charging points and more than 1,000 B2B partners in 52 countries and on four continents. In addition, Hubject is a trusted consulting partner in the eMobility market and advises automotive manufacturers, charging providers and other EV-related companies that want to introduce eMobility services or implement Plug&Charge according to ISO 15118. Essentially, Hubject promotes eMobility and its further development worldwide. Hubject was founded in 2012 and is a joint venture of the BMW Group, Bosch, Mercedes-Benz, EnBW, Enel X, E.ON, Siemens and the Volkswagen Group. Hubject is headquartered in Berlin, with offices in Los Angeles and Shanghai.

About NOW GmbH:
A climate-neutral society is the goal. Innovative technologies and concepts are the way. NOW GmbH is working on this on behalf of the Federal Government – across programmes and technologies. It evaluates, advises and controls. She promotes and translates her knowledge at the interface of politics, industry and research. Technologically, their tasks include the areas of hydrogen, fuel cells, batteries, renewable fuels and liquefied natural gas – both on the propulsion and fuel side, as well as on the infrastructure side. In December 2019, for example, the National Charging Infrastructure Control Centre was founded under the umbrella of NOW GmbH. It coordinates and controls the activities for the expansion of the charging infrastructure in Germany.
