Dual Absolute® T8090 for Automotive Leak Test
MARSEILLE, FRANCE, - May 19, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ForTest, the global leader in leak testing solutions, has launched Dual Absolute T8090, a revolutionary new instrument to solve test problems of electric car equipment to improve their performance, reliability and efficiency.®
Many parts of an electric car, such as the battery, circuits, cooling systems, and packs, are prone to leaks. To avoid user
dissatisfaction and potentially serious losses, these parts must be waterproof.Off-road vehicles, in particular, need sealed battery packs to prevent dust from seeping into components and generating performance and safety issues.
For automotive manufacturers and suppliers, leak testing of auto parts to improve stability and efficiency has become an important aspect of the production system.
With the growing demand for electric vehicles, it has become important to perform more leak tests on the entire battery and also on charging stations. Therefore, leak test instruments for electric vehicle components must meet higher performance standards.
To combat these problems, ForTest offers a combination of the traditional absolute sealing approach with the precision and sensitivity of a differential system, and invents a new Dual Absolute T8090 leak test instrument for automobiles.®
Traditionally, for various electrical components of cars, pressure reduction, conventional differential and visual inspection test methods are used. However, these techniques can be slow, unreliable, have lost the battery pack and other component leaks that, if left undetected, can cause major quality and safety issues.
This technology can help double the production rate of automotive industries, as it allows both components to be tested simultaneously and reduces cycle times using the secure zero center mode.
No compromise on quality, Dual Absolute T8090 has very sensitive sensors for defect detection and measurements as in the classic differential system and is even more beneficial for the automotive e-mobility sector in such a way that, it does not require periodic maintenance due to the optimization of its circuit and efficient parts but, which is necessary in traditional differential instruments.®
Traditional capacitive differential systems are sensitive to moisture which causes severe battery damage and cost. But the SSM (solid state measurement) of the Dual Absolute T8090 measuring instrument is insensitive to moisture, so it eliminates the need for expensive compressed air filtering systems, which are necessary for traditional capacitive differential systems.®
Engineers must subject the battery pack to two types of leak tests to ensure its performance and stability: one evaluates the hermeticity of the external chassis (IP68) and the other tests the internal cooling circuit of the battery. Using the new Dual Absolute T8090 instrument, the first test is performed at a pressure of (50 mbar) with a leakage rate of 10 cc/min, and the second is performed at a pressure of (1 bar) with a leakage rate of 2 cc/min. Full-scale pressure measurement can reach 200 bar, which is more than enough compared to the traditional limits of differential systems.®
No expertise is needed to operate the Dual Absolute T8090 instrument or to understand its design and functions through its user-friendly interface. The front panel of the Dual Absolute is made of a single sheet of tempered glass and aluminum, making it very easy to clean and suitable for use in laboratories and on production lines to test the components of electric cars. The internal panels are well organized, and the visual display has been developed only to show important data.®®
It ensures the double safety of the measurement channels thanks to Dual Absolute's absolute decay circuits with inherent protection and cross-checking of the channels. Modern production control solenoid valves have improved filling speed by 30% compared to traditional models while maintaining the same level of reliability, and component stability times are significantly improved thanks to large-scale leak monitoring. ®
The modular structure of the Dual Absolute T8090 also makes it unique in its characteristics. It includes ports for USB slave, RS232, RS485, Profinet, EtherNet IP and EtherCAT. A master USB connector is located on the front screen and allows you to connect to a memory device to record test results, save/restore settings, and update instrument programming. ®
Thermal printers, barcode readers and markers are all connected instantly via an internal interface.
It eliminates any thermal or mechanical drift problems in the reference part of electric cars and all measurements have been stored so as not to stress the sample and alter the measurements.
The Dual Absolute T8090 can perform an infinite number of measurements without drifts due to thermal and mechanical variations during a day and all measurements are always accurate even in extreme conditions.®
