With over 2,000 professionals, Domestyca offers digital profiles and AI-assisted recruitment as an alternative to classified ads and agencies.
We don't want to replace a good agency. We want to use AI to make part of this assisted recruitment experience accessible to many more families.”
Filipa Almeida
CASCAIS, LISBON, PORTUGAL, October 13, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / -- Finding a domestic worker remains, for many Portuguese families, a surprisingly informal process: an advertisement on a classifieds website, a post in a Facebook group, or a phone number sent via WhatsApp.
On the other side, thousands of professionals accumulate years of experience, references, and skills that are rarely recorded in a professional profile that accompanies them throughout their careers.
Domestyca , a technology platform created in Portugal, aims to bridge these two sides of the market. After eight months of validation, it officially presents itself with more than 2,000 registered domestic workers in 186 locations, an average of six years of experience per professional, and nearly 3,500 contacts established between families and candidates.
"This is a huge market, but still very informal," says Filipa Almeida, founder of Domestyca. "A family is choosing someone to whom they can hand over the keys to their house." "A professional can have 10 or 15 years of experience and still have their main calling card remain a phone number circulating on WhatsApp."
A professional identity that accompanies the worker.
At Domestyca, each professional can create a free profile where they gather experience, skills, languages, availability, location, and professional trajectory.
The logic is similar to what platforms like LinkedIn have done for other professions: creating a digital professional identity that belongs to the worker themselves, which they can update and share directly with potential employers—even outside of Domestyca.
"We want a domestic worker to no longer have to start from scratch every time they look for work," explains Filipa Almeida. "Their experience and journey should accompany them and help them build a professional reputation over time."
Professionals can also verify their identity through a specialized document verification provider. The platform also offers a Reference Verification service .
Between searching alone and hiring an agency
. For many families, the problem is not only finding candidates, but having the time to search, analyze profiles, and understand who truly meets their needs. An agency can handle much of this work through a personalized service, but this level of support comes at a cost that not all families can or want to afford.
It was in this context that Domestyca developed Aria.Domestyca is an artificial intelligence agent specializing in domestic recruitment. The family describes their needs—schedules, location, tasks, experience, or languages—and Aria searches available profiles, identifies the most compatible candidates, explains each recommendation, and prepares a personalized first message.
"We don't intend to replace the personalized support of a good agency—in fact, we also offer a service for agencies," says Filipa Almeida. "We want to use artificial intelligence to make part of this assisted recruitment experience accessible to many more families."
The decision always remains in the family's hands. Domestyca does not select candidates on its behalf, does not intervene in the employment relationship, and does not charge a commission on hiring.
Aria is currently available in beta on the Priority plan, with unlimited contacts for 90 days for €49.90. Domestyca plans start at €7.90, with no monthly fees.
Since July, more than 180 ads from families seeking domestic help have been published on the platform.
Domestyca is available at domestyca.com.
