
Petr Gumennik became the first in the Beijing qualifying tournament before the 2026 Olympic Games, scoring 262.82 points for two programs, and together with Adelia Petrosyan, who won the day before, qualified for Milan.
The third place was taken by Kim Hyun Kyung from South Korea - 228.60, the third - Donovan Carrillo from Mexico - 222.36 points.
A figure skater from St. Petersburg, a student of Veronika Daineko won the short program at the tournament in Beijing, in the free skate he went for five quads - flip, lutz, ritberger, salchow in a cascade with a triple toe loop and performed a combination - quadruple salchow + double axel in the second half of the program.
From a technical point of view, not everything turned out perfectly, at the tournament in Beijing, the skater performed a program with the most complex jumping content. For the free skate, Peter scored 169.02 points.
For our figure skaters, the performance in Beijing was the first international start after a long break. To get to the Olympic Games in Milan, singles had to enter the top five at the end of the competition.
