RACE 1
After qualifying on pole, Norbert Kiss took the chequered flag in the first race at Most on Saturday afternoon.
The race started under yellow flag due to wet track conditions. After the first lap the track went green and Kiss pulled away from the trucks behind. Sascha Lenz, who started the race in third behind Jochen Hahn, put the heat on his fellow countryman right from the start. The pair got into an epic wheel-to-wheel battle and Lenz made a bold move around the outside into turn 15, overtaking Hahn into turn 16.
Lenz went on to hunt down the red MAN of the Hungarian, closing the gap in every lap. He caught up to Kiss in the closing stages of the race, but Kiss managed to cross the finish line first to take the first win of the day.
Local hero Adam Lacko, who started from sixth on the grid, made short work of Anthony Janiec and went on to overtake Antonio Albacete and Jochen Hahn. Albacete stayed on the back of Adam Lacko and the former ETRC champions battled for third place. Lacko had the upper hand and the Czech crowd cheered on their local driver as he crossed the finish line in third.
RACE 2
Téo Calvet who started from pole, didn’t get the best getaway as he spun his rear tyres on the wet side of the track, which made way for André Kursim, who took over the lead into the second turn.
Kiss who started from ninth, didn’t waste any time picking up the drivers ahead of him and put the pressure on Steffi Halm in fourth. He made his way past and onto Anthony Janiec, with the pair making contact. Janiec fiercely fought off the Hungarian but couldn’t hold him off as Kiss eventually made the move past the Frenchman.
Next up was Téo Calvet, who he made short work of to hunt down Kursim. The Don’t Touch Racing driver managed to stay ahead for several laps, with Kiss using every inch of the track to find his way through. Kursim did a great job at holding him off but in the penultimate lap, the Hungarian wrestled his way past making contact with Kursim to take the chequered lap first.
The stewards looked into the incident after the race and handed Kiss a 10-second penalty which saw him drop back into third, handing the win to André Kursim.
