FIA ETRC Preview: Most

MOST PREVIEW After an extended break, the FIA European Truck Racing Championship is back in action at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic this weekend. Most rings in a busy second half of the season with five rounds crammed in to the next seven weeks, with the championship final at Misano, Italy on 16/17 October. 17 drivers will line up on the grid when the lights go out on Saturday afternoon. Local hero Adam Lacko took a win in last year’s round at the Autodrom Most and will be looking to get on the top step again in front of his home crowd.  Sascha Lenz, who is leading the championship, and Norbert Kiss, currently in third behind Lacko, will both be looking to beat the Czech racer on his home turf. Six-time ETRC Champion Jochen Hahn left the opening race with a podium in the bag and will be in contention for another top result in Most. T Sport Bernau’s Antonio Albacete showed consistent strong speed at the Hungaroring and scored two fourth places. The Spaniard will without a doubt want to get at least one step up on the weekend.  German racers René Reinert and Steffi Halm have both shown a strong performance at the season opener and will be looking to get into the mix with the front runners. Lukas Hahn will join the grid at the Czech venue as a race by race entrant. He scored a podium in the Goodyear Cup last year.  The Goodyear Cup is set to to see another exciting battle for points on the weekend. Shane Brereton, who returned to the ETRC grid with a bang, winning both races on Sunday in Hungary, is currently on top of the leaderboard. His fellow countryman Jamie Anderson, who took a win at the Hungaroring, suffered from technical issues which left him unable to start in the fourth race. The Brit will be looking to make up for the missed points at Most.  German racers Steffen Faas and Clemens Hecker, who both scored solid points in Hungary, will be gunning to get on the podium on the weekend.  Buggyra racers Aliyyah Koloc and Téo Calvet will too be in the hunt for points in what is the team’s home race.  The action gets under way with free practice on Friday afternoon and the all-important qualifying will begin on Saturday morning with two races on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
